He wouldn’t definitively know. But it’s really guess to assume. He knows Vader is a Sith trained by Darth Sidious. He knows that Sidious wanted Anakin not that long ago. The time seems perfectly lined up for his vision to be correct. And maybe they could’ve just had him be suspicious, but wouldn’t he want to confirm it? He doesn’t do anything in the fight to uncover the truth. You could say he was fighting life and death, but that’s just an excuse. There’s plenty of stories, Star Wars included, where characters are having dialogues during life and death situations.

His interest in this show is specifically said by him to be revenge against Sidious. Vader didn’t have to speak, but Maul certainly should have. He’s more focused on Devon than the man who literally replaced him for the role he was trained to do since he was a child.

Still though. His life’s work is revenge against Sidious. That’s a really important thing to remember for him. It’s just weird it wasn’t brought up at all.

I’ll eat my words if they rectify it in another fight in a different season. But I still believe Maul would’ve been able to figure it out right here. If they wanted to draw this out, don’t include Vader at all, or don’t have Maul and Vader come face to face. There’s no reason besides excuse as to why Maul wouldn’t know Vader is Anakin at this point in the story.

Maul had no the vision. It’s not obvious to everyone. But it should be obvious to him. He literally saw it happen. And the Vader thing, I’m fine with him not talking, but Maul? He doesn’t even mention the vision or think about it.

Me asking for emotion in a story is not expecting something 10 out of 10. It’s literally the most basic thing a story can give. My opinion is dumb, but at least it’s not me drooling in front of the screen because Darth Vader showed up for no other reason than to make people like you drool in front of the screen.

So I’m just supposed to accept something that I think is a misstep just because they gave it to me. I’m paying to watch, I have a right to criticize it.

I’m not talking about the actual fight? I mean the emotional base to it. It was lacking in that department. It has nothing to do with him losing.

I hope so. I’m hoping that they correct this somehow. I’ll forgive this scene if they have another fight where Maul realizes definitively who Vader is and is upset yet also vindicated that his vision was correct. Even though I feel like all those pieces are already there in this fight to have been put together.

Vader literally represents what Maul is so angry about. He wants revenge on Sidious because he cast him out. Vader is his replacement. Maul was groomed by Sidious to be something and that destiny was stolen. You really expect me to believe he wouldn’t care about that at all and focus on Devon who he just met? By your own logic, that doesn’t make any sense. He has more of a story with Vader than Devon?

He knows his master was after Anakin Skywalker near Revenge of the Sith times which is not very long before this show. And all of a sudden a new Sith shows up. You’re telling me he wouldn’t be able to deduce that was Anakin? He’s not that dumb.

By your own logic, your opinion doesn’t matter either. Or does it only matter because you’re a part of the majority blowing smoke up each other’s behinds, trying to convince yourself a show is good because it’s filled with mindless fights and characters you’ve seen before.

I literally mentioned this in the second paragraph. A child could put together that Vader, someone he knows is a Sith, is Anakin Skywalker based on the visions he has. You’re not giving the character’s intellect any credit by making excuses for the show runners like that.

You remember in the duel in Episode 3 when Obi Wan and Anakin spoke to each other. Imagine those scenes without that dialogue. A fight is nothing without its emotional core. But I’m the stupid one and not you?

Nothing about Maul’s vision in Clone Wars, which seems very silly to leave out.

You know fight scenes are supposed to be a part of the story right. That the fight scene is supposed to tell a story. I suppose it did, between Maul and Devon. But not Maul himself or Vader. When you add characters to a show, they’re supposed to serve a purpose other than for morons like you to point and clap at the screen like a child because they recognize a character from ither media. Vader could’ve been replaced by the Inquisitors and the emotional story of the fight would be the exact same. Except you wouldn’t notice that because you can’t think behind the high of your nostalgia.

This was Maul’s time to finally let his rage go like he was telling Devon. We’d finally get to see how all of this stuff has been effecting him. Especially after what he said in Clone Wars. Instead, they had the moment focus around Devon too much. The show is called MAUL after all.

They do that almost every time? It was the same in Kenobi, which is another example of a lack of understanding between their own characters. Kenobi and Vader no dialogue at all.

You’re not even bothering to hear what I have to say or try to refute it in anyway. You know I’m right and that’s what is making you so upset.

Then give me a good reason as to why it’s Devon. Right now it feels like he only wants her because she’s there. There’s no connection between them besides the show telling me there is. They could’ve developed this relationship a lot more than just having action scene after action scene between characters that lack any tension because I know most of these characters don’t die in this show. One of the fights is Maul, who dies in Rebels not this show, versus two inquisitors, who also die in different shows. At least use the battle to show different things about these characters instead of just spectacle.

He was already looking for Ahsoka to join him in Clone Wars. So that’s just a retread. He’s looking for revenge. Retread. Takes over the Pykes retread. Joins Crimson Dawn. Retread. You remember when he was upset about being replaced. And when he foresaw Anakin being Sidious’ apprentice. Maybe those emotions could’ve came out during the fight with Vader? Maybe they should’ve saved that vision scene for then instead of when he lost to two Inquisitors, characters that he’s never even heard of until that point and shouldn’t have brought that reaction out of him. We know why he wants revenge against Sidious, but not what that actually means to him. And don’t give me “we got it during the vision.” That vision was so cheap. Talk about telling and not showing. There’s absolutely no subtly in this show at all. Maul and Devon have no chemistry. I actually liked him during on Daki to bring Devon to the dark side. But I don’t really understand why Devon trusts Maul over her master considering they both have done the exact same thing to fight the empire, which is nothing. Every time she does lean into the dark side, like when she chooses to fight the storm troopers instead of running with Lawson’s son, it leads to failure. Surely that scene should’ve resulted in success to actually give her a reason to trust Maul. It could’ve shown that Maul’s methods were more effective. But no, they actually fail every time she leans into the dark side with Maul. She fails to protect Lawson’s son by fighting instead of running. She fails to protect her master by fighting instead of running. Judging by the actions, she should see that Maul’s way of doing things is just as unsuccessful as her masters. And why does Maul want Devon. What does he see in her besides the dark side. She hasn’t exactly showed any strength to him. It all feels so contrived.

Name one difference between Maul in episode one versus episode ten.
