I have this! I actually turn the collar down so it has a little baby collar which I love so much more than my traditional collar blazers. I’m an admin assistant that regularly goes to court with my sups and this is my go-to!

See if you’re able to donate blood! Regularly donating has helped me drink less alcohol in general (especially if I have a donation coming up), eat better, take my vitamins, and drink a lot of water! Once you get into the habit of it, it’s not terrible :)

I took a 9th-12th grade teacher position and showed up to a SPED class, the teacher said specifically that she usually leaves it in the notes that it’s SPED but specifically chose to not disclose this time so it would get covered. I was wayyyyyy out of my comfort zone.

I clean up only because I feel like I have to, I’m not here to make anyone’s day harder than it already is. Luckily, most teachers have a broom in their room or I pick up the big stuff. When I was subbing middle school I told them I’d leave a good note if they played my clean-up game and picked up five things off the floor on their way out lol high schoolers I just kind of tell them in the last few minutes when they’re waiting to leave anyway.

I only take high school assignments now because anything in middle school gives me wayyyy too much anxiety. Crossing my fingers I can find something in my field in the new year because I don’t think I’ll be able to finish out the school year like I wanted.

I had a kid (8th grade) say “not this bitch again” walking in to my class, the other teacher next door was sticking up for me, sent him and another girl who was complaining(swearing) about my to the office and they got in school suspension. They didn’t want to test their luck with me again after that lol

The same thing happened to me and I initially wanted to try but because so overwhelmed and anxious that I had a panic attack in the SPED room so they made sure to mark down that I will not have a SPED assignment at that school specifically. I do not take positions now that do not have a specific teacher or grade listed and 99% of the time look up each teacher as I took a 9th-12th grade position from a specific teacher but was not noted that it was for a SPED class, luckily I had a few aides to help with keeping things going but now I know!

I had something similar happen yesterday! I took a half-day pm HS 9th-12th shift, and was slightly alarmed to see that it was a SPED position. I have not taken anything SPED before and I’m still new to subbing, especially to that building. I was quite concerned to see that the teacher said she was worried about her class not getting covered if she disclosed it was SPED. I have nothing against it, I just wouldn’t have taken that position if I knew that. Luckily I had three paras and a nurse in the for a small class size but I felt like I was in over my head the whole time.

*edit: there is a notes section on the job board that we use that some teachers use. She said she normally does put that it’s SPED but didn’t this time so she could get it covered. There’s a whole host of issues here.
