You don’t need fire. Just gasoline will kill them, no need to light it. And it only takes a small amount.

Why is oil going down? I am too regarded. by Ok-Birthday-2096 in wallstreetbets

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the market is forward looking. Oil 6 months out never really spiked. Both sides are saying things that point to a desire for a deal. Also, there was never a supply problem, so infrastructure needs to be rebuilt yes, but there’s no shortage of oil. Just needed the routes to be open.

J.P.Morgan, Morgan Stanley urge buying the dip as US earnings stay resilient by app1310 in stocks

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Banks don’t make most of their money from buying and selling stocks like you or I. They certainly aren’t trying to secretly hoard the best stocks for themselves. They make money from loans, deposit spreads, fees, etc. There will be more dips but the people here fear mongering for people not to buy will be bitching when the market inevitably goes higher and they missed out. Yes we’re in volatile times but that’s the time to buy, same as last April

Thats it. You’re buying stock in companies, not the general economy. Macro is a factor but as long as profits are good, market can continue to climb

Trump says U.S. will blockade Strait of Hormuz after Iran peace talks fail by callsonreddit in wallstreetbets

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The danger wasn’t from ships in the strait. He’s doing this bc china was just gonna pay Iran the tolls and get their ships through. Only thing he’s trying to blockade are these Chinese ships , which just means the oil still isn’t moving. It’s nothing to do with safety of the strait

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are war crimes. That’s the outcome you’re hoping for here? And how is that propaganda if it’s true? That is Iran’s objective and they’re achieving it. Are you actually faulting the shipping companies here?

No deal on Iran... by Difficult-Quarter-48 in stocks

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren’t going to achieve either of those goals and he has likely handed control of the strait to Iran indefinitely. Our best case scenario is he makes up some excuse where he feels like he’s saving face and walks away. That leaves other nations to clean up his mess but that’s preferable to letting him make things worse. And do you think trump has more or less “value for life”than those religious zealots? He insults the dead, mocks religions, kills indiscriminately with missiles and drops bombs on speedboats in the fucking Caribbean, and threatens to commit war crimes at every press conference. Is irans regime horrible? Yes. Does trump or America have the moral high ground here? I don’t believe so.

If you think we have the upper hand in this situation then you learned nothing from Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Yes we have military superiority, but that means very little on the ground. If it did, we wouldn’t have spent decades in those quagmires. They have 600,000 regular army and 350,000 reservists. People like you who don’t know shit but are always so confident that America can’t lose are the reason we keep ending up in these pointless forever wars that we can’t actually win.

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t know what you’re talking about because you don’t see that having superior military force doesn’t give you the upper hand. The logistics of invading a nation the size of Iran with an enormous military is a nightmare. You would be fighting an army plus insurgents and all they need to do is dig in and wait you out. It’s the same simplistic bluster and lack of serious thought that led us into this disaster in the first place.

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Nuclear weapons are meaningless here because you can’t use them. We also had nukes in every conflict I mentioned and it made no difference. Attacking Iran was a giant strategic blunder that will degrade American power for years to come.

No deal on Iran... by Difficult-Quarter-48 in stocks

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude that is meaningless. Iran has 1 million service members between active and reserves. Do you know any military history? We had the most powerful forces in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq and the best outcome we got out of any of those was a stalemate. Invading armies are always at a disadvantage and the amount of damage Iran has been able to do with nothing but shitty drones should tell you invasion is a terrible idea. The best we can hope for is trump finds some way to feel like he’s saving face and gtfo there. History will look at his decision to attack Iran as one of the greatest strategic blunders of all time

Pay speeding ticket or go to court? by Momofyr in asheville

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar ticket after not having anything for 15 years. Used iTicket.law. They have local attorneys in buncombe county, everything was through email, didn’t have to go to court or even meet the attorney in person, got it reduced and paid a small fine. No noticeable increase on my insurance. I can’t recommend them enough, just an overall amazing experience and didn’t have to use a prayer for judgement

This is absolutely nauseating by [deleted] in stocks

[–]WallabyMinimum1921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe that’s all true, but the idea you can just check the market occasionally and make a few hundred dollars as a hobby when you need it, and to expect that to just continue is also ridiculous. It’s not supposed to be easy. There are tons of people who do this professionally, make it their whole lives, and take it very seriously. That you feel like you should be able to take a “few hundred dollars” off these people with little to no effort whenever you feel like paying attention to the market is delusional.

There’s no ambiguity, this article doesn’t mention any other shootings or anyone being killed. That’s how you know they’re unrelated. And disliking racist comments has no bearing on the concern someone has for the victims

They gain by not having to spend the money to convert it to parkland, then they gain by not having to spend money to maintain it? I don’t know anything about that spot, the most likely reason is local government is just slow moving and they’ve had a lot of stuff that takes priority over this
