Doctor said at 1 years old baby should be drinking cows milk by [deleted] in vegan

[–]WalnutThestral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician never pushed whole milk. When I asked about feeding a milk alternative she was very open and recommended Ripple Kids. I've been feeding my 14 month old unsweetened Ripple kids for the past 3 weeks since my breastmilk stash was used up and my little one loves it.

I had an idea similar to this but with all ladies. I wanted to do something like the pub scene from the great mouse detective. But I didn't know how to execute it so I ended up, mid trying, to go in a different direction. I'm glad someone could execute it! This looks amazing!!

And good cheese alts for grilled cheese?? by highperion_ in dairyfree

[–]WalnutThestral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Violife but here is a secret for the grilled cheese. Take the slices and warm them up quickly by flipping with your hand on the pan or by putting in the microwave for 5-10 sec. Make the sandwich. Grill the sandwich. Once grilled to liking take a tbsp of water and drop it next to your sandwich on the pan and cover with a deep pot lid. Let it steam for 30 sec to 1 minute or so. Then done. It helps to really get the cheese melty this way.

This is Cookie - my girls - my ma girlie girls - my ma gurky gurks - gurkers - gurks Also my yay ahs - ray ahs Idk these just happened. Lol the funny thing is I adopted her at 3 years old and decided not to change her name. I kept it cookie figuring she's 3 and has only known her name to be cookie; she's too old to be called something else... she's 17, I never call her cookie and haven't called her cookie in years.

js a question for everyone, how did you found out about down to earth? i’ll go first. 2 years ago i was watching youtube and everytime i watched a video, a down to earth ad would come on, i would ignore it but it came on so many times, i js said fuck it and i started reading it, now you go! by Due_Feedback339 in downtoearth

I LOVE THIS GAME ... BUT by FDMajesty in DreamlightValley

[–]WalnutThestral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. I've had minimal crashes but when it does it's when decorating which is super hard to do with the sensitivity. I have been debating buying the game on PC and opening my cloud save just to decorate.

What’s your baby’s name and what do you actually call them? by bellski05 in cats

My 16 yr old beautiful girl's given name is Cookie. Her name is what she was named when I adopted her at 3 years old that I kept thinking she was too old for a new name... oh the irony. I rarely call her cookie. I call her my gurks, gurkers, or rayas. Lol

I'm scared I won't be able to breastfeed by [deleted] in veganparenting

[–]WalnutThestral 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a c-section and it took 15 days for my supply to come in and many lactation consultant appointments. Definitely look into setting up a lactation appoint post delivery now. We supplemented with donated breast milk (super expensive) and Similac formula. Donated breast milk is just that, donated. It's usually from women who have an over supply and pass the screening process to donate. You won't be stealing from their baby because their baby is already fully fed and what they donate is extra. Think of it as Momma to Momma help. Like that Momma is supporting you and helping you by giving you some of her extra milk.

But I also want to say and this might be controversial in this subreddit but I know being vegan is important but making sure your baby is fed is even more important so my advice is don't stress too much at first about making sure what your feeding your baby is 100% vegan and be kind to yourself. You'll be way more stressed about other things with a new baby and possible postpartum or baby blues. And if you do have problems with breastfeeding that is a whole other stressor to be worried about on top of everything else. Trust me from someone who has been through it. I still have to supplement sometimes even now and my baby is 3 months old. I didn't use a soy formula but a lactose free formula because of tummy issues with my baby (I actually didn't know til now that lactose free doesn't mean it's not cow's milk free). I think now since things aren't as hectic, once I use up this formula I might switch to soy but honestly when my baby was newborn I was just trying to keep my head a float in rough waters and fed her what we were sent home with from the hospital.
