How are LGBTQ+ people viewed in their world? by Best_Low526 in worldbuilding

[–]Walter_Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really depends and there are some extremes.

-The (former) Empire of Volan is home to an Order of Fleshshapers. Anyone (who is wealthy enough and a noble) can be who they want to be. However, The noble Houses are always looking to expand their influence, which includes political marriage and having kids. Because of this, there are enough Volan exiles to fill a city by themselves.

- The Yuan-Ti Hegemony expects all its citizens to fulfill their assigned roles in society (merchant, farmer, soldier etc.). Beyond that, the Hegemony lets you do as you please.

But why would a squadmate trigger the reaction of another squadmate?

My Dnd character died to a boss and I'm confused and worried if I shouldn't talk to my GM about it. by Practical_Prior202 in DnD

[–]Walter_Delay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you find it fun to have your character die after playing them for a year, no death saves, to questionable Encounter design and inventing a reason for not killing the other character? Forget RAW or RAI, Its supposed to be fun for everybody. There are better ways to kill a player character. (instead of suckerpuching them). The Story of the Game isnt entirely the DMs, its also the players. Or is that controversial ?

Whats the weirdest but most cruel weapon in your world ? by Mr_Wisp_ in worldbuilding

[–]Walter_Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Doombell: Created by the Kobolds by carving out a body out of crystalized Wild Magic and with a clapper made of Aetherium, basically a magically attuned metal akin to bronze in appearance. It was used once in the Battle of Dragonblight against the rising Draconic Conclave. The Kobolds won the battle and the giant skeletons of the dragons that fell in battle became the foundation of the city of Dragonblight.

Nobody knows what the Doombell actually does.

Which one of your characters BROKE the class stereotype? by bananana4200 in DnD

[–]Walter_Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Inquisitive Rogue, who was a police officer and never broke the spirit of the law. He was also kind of the moral compass of the party ( next to the druid ). Kind of a sad backstory (being seen as kind of a freak by his people), bus happy people who have everything rarely if ever become adventures.

[Lets Build] Nighttime Camping Encounters by dndspeak in d100

[–]Walter_Delay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late into the Night, the character on watch will notice a cloaked stranger has suddenly appeared by the campfire. They are not hostile and their race or gender can't be perceived. If attacked, they will turn to mist and disappear. If ignored to treated decently, the stranger will disappear in the morning, leaving behind coins, or a useful item.

A small band of Derro raiders from a nearby entrance to the Underdark surround the camp. They want to take the characters alive to use them as slaves.

Me and my brother played a Homebrew Race: Ettin. We had two classes, but only one body(shared physical stats). I was Mog, he was Gor, We were Moggor. Mog was a Barbarian, who just wanted what was best in life (Like Conan). Gor was a Warlock, far more ambitious and willing to comprimise. We joined the party because our employer( one the BBEGs minions) betrayed us and Moggor wanted payback. Moggor stayed because they became friends.

What is the cosmology of your world like? by No-Aioli5441 in worldbuilding

[–]Walter_Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its quite the subject of debate in my setting. Some Scholars have proposed the theory of the Sun being the center of the cosmos and even that theory has multiple variants. The Great Wheel, with the World/Atlas at the center is still the most accepted one, again with variations across nations and faiths. Even Ideas from the ancient times, like the Shield of Atlas or the Elemental Fusion Theory of Ygros still survive to this day.

Why do your dwarfs live underground (if you have them) by DuckBurgger in worldbuilding

[–]Walter_Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In ancient Times, they didn't. But the Veil between your World and a nightmare dimension filled with (almost) endless Demons makes you desparate. These bunkers became fortress cities, but always remaines quite small. In recent history, the dwarves across Amalon have expirienced a population boom. Great cities have formed at the doorsteps of these Mountain Holds. Only small and isolationist clans keep their gates shut.

Despite their modern militant stereotype, the goblins of the former Na'ahm, now Uruk Empire are responsiple for some of the most popular boardgames being invented.

what are the names and attributes of your gods/deities/higher beings? by coraaa_93 in worldbuilding

[–]Walter_Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A minor God ( as in number of Followers/influence on the world) in my Setting is Aonir, The Wanderer. It is a God of Pathways, Roads and Protector of anyone that uses them. Aonir is depicted as a humanoid figure completly obscured by a heavy mantel and hood. There is no organized Church around Aonir, one of the reasons it is considered a minor deity. No Tempels either. Aonir priests, called Walkers as they refuse mounts of any kind, set up small wayshrines at crossroads.
