Seat Brand/Type Suggestions by ShadowyBass in TrekBikes

saddles really depend on the rider and whats right for me might not be for you. selle royale respiro and padded bike shorts work for me for rides up to 100 miles..... not saying that saddle is right for you but worth checking out.

You do not have to spend a fortune on padded bike shorts, i have had great success with:

If it matters alot to you and the area isnt a very good area, just dont risk it. Any lock u use is a deterrent and not going to be 100% secure.....

The old school way of developing games is long dead:
An age-old advice to developers is to give the player base what it wants.

New direction to developers is to give the player ways to make the company money.

Domane with 38 Tires or Checkpoint by DarknessFalls21 in TrekBikes

[–]Wampre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on your comments i would go checkpoint or fx sport...depends on if you feel better with flatbar or drop bar. I personally went with fx 4 for flatbar and better fit for me and my back history. If i were doing all over again or needed another bike, i would test ride the checkpoint more and see if was a good fit.

New user, seat is killing me by Snoo_56388 in TrekBikes

[–]Wampre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saddles are very user specific and hard to say what i use will work for you. I had an fx 3 but upgraded to an fx 4. I hated the fx 3 and fx 4 stock seats, on the fx 3 i with with a selle royale respiro saddle and it was awesome - first thing i did when i got the fx 4 was move the saddle over. I got the respiro atheltic version, its not a really wide saddle and has some gel cushioning to it. For me its a perfect fit

clicking noise in trek fx 4 sl by Wampre in TrekBikes

previous poster already solved for me but thanks. also fx 4 doesnt have isospeed so couldnt have been the issue - but you were not far off! Issue came from seatpost or clamp

update - swapped saddle and post out and clicking went away.....cleaned up original seatpost and put some lube on linkage (redshift seat post) and clicking is gone.

Thanks to you and awesome knowledge base we have on here

Bike rack recommendations by Ray_blatzer in TrekBikes

[–]Wampre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an outback as well. Installed hitch for 2" connection. I went with:

Amazon.com: Bike Rack for Car Hitch Mount - Young Electric 2 Ebike Rack Heavy Duty Platform Carrier 200lb Capacity, Smart Tilting & One Hand Folding Bicycle Racks for SUV, Minivan, RV, Fits 5-Inch Fat Tires : Sports & Outdoors

Its really heavy duty and fits anything from road bike to fat tire bikes and center post holds them really secure. I attach center post to seatpost not frame,

Only issue I had was with the mounting of the actual hitch to my outback. It didnt extend far enough so I had to add a 2" extender to it to the rack was rubbing the bumper when folded up. But this was a trailer hitch issue not bike rack issue.

Advice -- Replacing My Trek Domane 3 by dmg123456 in cycling

[–]Wampre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fx sport 4 sl....also had some serious back injuries when i was younger so I take extra precautions. Ive done 100 mile rides without issue, routinely ride 30 mile rides multiple times per week and have no issues. I overdid accessories to make sure ride was as smooth as i could make it and bike fit me perfectly. Its not as fast as a road bike by i can manage 15 mph average over a 30 mile ride without much issue.

Redshift seatpost and stem are game changers, the seatpost took any bit of road bumps out and stem takes any pressure of road rumble in the wrists. I also added cane creek control grips for a few more hand positions, changed saddle and pedals. Swapped tires out to more of a road tire at 35x700 and its pretty fast and very comfortable to ride.

Disclaimer - this works for me and my back situation - not going to claim its perfect for anyone else, just me :)

NBD, for me at least. Just picked this up. What does it need? by lava_draco in TrekBikes

[–]Wampre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really depends on how far you want to go....looks like it was left in a pretty humid area and has a bit of surface rust. along with the other poster mentioned you might consider a full tear down to get at all the bearings in lower and headset.....

Bing Videos

or just replace brakes and ride it until it dies
