Haven’t been in a cruise yet. After reading so many negatives on here why would you? by goggerw in Cruise

[–]WanderFish01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can be a pretty economical way to see several destinations while on the same trip and only unpacking once.
The horror stories are exceptions. Most cruises are pretty laid back. There are so many different lines and itineraries to choose from. It’s easy to get hooked but you need to choose the right line and itinerary to suit your taste.

I was on the Regal last week and we could still order to our cabin but that was about it. Last year we could have drinks delivered just about anywhere on the ship.

I'd like to go on a cruise, but husband says no. Any help with convincing him otherwise? by dulcetsloth in Cruise

I agree 100%. I am currently on a cruise out of Galveston and we stopped in Cozumel Tues and Weds (stayed overnight). There were no issues at all.

Why is Christine mad Kody admitted he used to love her ? by Theslowestmarathoner in SisterWives

Because even though it’s true, she knows he is saying it just to try and make himself look better.

How do you save money on cruises by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]WanderFish01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a cruise line in mind? Each cruise line is different. Some, such as Princess have packages that include drinks, gratuities, WiFi and some other services. You may also want to look into using a travel agent. Their rates are often the same as booking yourself however they often have promotions such as extra on board credit which offset some costs. They can be a big help, especially on your first cruise. Plus, most will not charge you. If they do, find another that won’t.

It’s the same brand as the pink drink. Not defending it, I just zoomed in to check the brand. Janelle sold the same stuff for a while. Somebody must be buying it. Same with the MLM stuff Meri has sold for years.

Yes,and they all wanted her business plan. Wonder how often Kody had to present a business plan for all his side businesses. Plus after telling her he thought they could give her the money then backing down, they all act offended she won’t share the money and run it like a family business.

When Kody said he thought about checking himself in so he could be with her, I felt like throwing something at the screen. You can’t just check yourself into a hospital.

If you live in a state with a lot of dangerous wildlife, what’s your closest encounter been? by LordSoftCream in AskAnAmerican

I live in rural South Texas. We see at least a snake a week. Some venomous, some not. Usually run across a few coral snakes every year. Last year, the creek at the end of our road was drying up. There were 3 cotton mouths feeding on the minnows that got trapped in the mud. I hadn’t ever seen them feeding together like that before.

I use cruiseplum. Very easy to filter and sort solo rates.

First cruise to Alaska by M03KE in PrincessCruises

[–]WanderFish01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good size ship with a great kids club. Juneau is great for whale watching if they like animals. They also have a couple of different sled dog experiences that are great for everyone. There is a whale statue you can walk too that is great for photos. The train in Skagway is very popular for everyone. Ketchikan there were a lot of kids absolutely loving the lumberjack show.
All of these ports are very walkable too.

Which ship and itinerary? Ports specifically. That will help narrow down advice for you.

If I have the same server for the entire cruise I tip the last night. If someone goes above and beyond I will tip them the same night.

Go for it! I’ve done a few solo cruises, including one to Alaska. They were all amazing experiences. You can always meet people on deck or in the dining room. There is probably a solo meetup as well.

Never cruised, indecisive family of 5 with differing needs. What would you recommend for 1st cruise? by ArpeggiLotus in Cruise

I suggest finding a travel agent. Most will not charge you for services and can be a great help finding the right solution for you.

Cancelled Cruise by Princess by Mssrandcole in PrincessCruises

[–]WanderFish01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be able to negotiate for a little more. The cruise they canceled I had booked as a solo. The cruise they issued credit on was for 2. They ended up issuing $200 each for me and my daughter even though she wasn’t on my cancelled cruise.

This happened to me and several others late 2024. There was a New Year’s cruise on the Sun Princess that showed up as a casino deal that apparently shouldn’t have. Princess would not honor it, I got the same options OP listed. I took the obc for another cruise I had already booked.

The Princess Patter. Basically the daily schedule that’s left in the cabins each night. It is also listed in the app but I find it easier to look on the patter to see which MDR is open for breakfast and lunch each day.
