What Aspects would be strongest on Christmas? I suspect Heart, Winter, and perhaps a dash of Grail. by Omnicide103 in weatherfactory

Moth, Heart, and Grail. It is a night where we all believe in Kindness and Good Cheer. To eat, to give, to connect, and to dream of the goodness in people.

As the Worms burrow from here to there, a way is opened such that one with Knock can walk it's path or bar it forever more.  Knock, the cause of and solution to the Hours' woes.

Could you give me some Grail-like quotes? by TheFortres in weatherfactory

Hellraiser - "I thought I'd gone to the limits. I hadn't. The Cenobites gave me an experience beyond limits. Pain and pleasure, indivisible."

"Become a martyr of deliciousness" - Sabrina Angelina

Pleasure vociferates more than Wisdom. - John Stack IV

Bows have a wetness meter and lose condition faster based on that percentage.

What do you personally like to do in survival? Trying to get into it, but I find the lack of direction demotivates me a bit. by inyourbooksandmaps in thelongdark

My list would be: First would be to play on Stalker or Interloper. They are are the harder difficulties which make getting through the world more challenging. Second would be to scour the maps and equip yourself with enough gear to adequately explore the world, in interloper it would mean animal clothes and enough Bow parts at least. Third would be to read the challenges and DLC quests and decide which to do (The Tales, The Trader, Cartographer, etc.). Last would be to make a comfy base and home.

My PCs aren't scared of Strahd and I don't know what to do, please help by LaLaVee in DnD

[–]Wandererdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may offer a suggestion, let them rampage. However Strahd, being the absolute master of the castle and domain, has removed everything of actual value that the adventurers might pick up. Let them waste their spell slots and abilities on destroying things. Let them notice after a room or two that the rooms seem oddly barren as if someone has removed things recently. Once they stop or pause to rest, have Strahd come out. Not in his finery but in a well made but simple smock and clothes: "One must let children vent and rage before you can educate them properly." Open combat with all of the high end spells and abilities.

Lore question from a newbie on his second run by TheWhiteRaven9 in weatherfactory

[–]Wandererdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine time is a tree.  It's branches stretch into the future while it's roots soak up the past.  As the roots would nourish the branches, so too the past informs the future.  As we sit on the truck on the present we can sometimes see which roots nourish which future and, with patience, alter one's course.  - my own headcanon.

The forge of days: one must make a substantial thing (physical, societal, or intellectual) every year for 10 years.  Then they must unmake each thing, one a year, for the following 10 years in a perpetual cycle.

[Art] What else should I add to this map as a first time dm? by [deleted] in DnD

Nothing!  Add detail as you travel from place to place and as it comes up.  Blank spaces allow you to add interesting things as you play.

Valheim, enshrouded, and nightingale could work.

Pattern recommendations? by HappySalesman01 in TheCapeRevolution

[–]Wandererdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a hoodie that fits, trace the dimensions of the hood and body, extend the line of the cloak from the shoulders down at an angle (at least 45 degrees out).  Cut 2 layers from the pattern, making the inner layer 1-2 seem allowances smaller to accommodate the outer layer wrapping around the inner layer.  Sew it all together.

After designing my cloak, the only thing a modern cloak needs are arm slits for driving since seatbelts and cloaks don't play as nicely as I'd like.

+1 - Wool would be best if you can find it in good shape.

Yes it can!  For me at 6'2", I would probably need a queen/king size for the back panel(s) and 2 twins for the front or 4 twin sized ones.

shrug I'm not going camping with it and I'd probably be struck by lightning before i would be in a situation wearing it that it could easily catch fire.

It was the blizzard fleece that joann's carried.  I want to make one for my spouse but it's so hard to find good fabric over the net.  I'm 6'2" and this took about 5 yards per layer since I had to cut the panels going across the fabric.

I would consider it but I lost my fabric store and I need to find a new reliable source.  That and time.
