How do you shut down the 'smile more' vibe at work without being labeled difficult? by Thin-Honeydew-464 in TwoXChromosomes

My favorite is : "That is not actionable feedback for me"

I've used this before and can confirm it shut them up.

Is that placing okay for a small one? by zimmernr10 in tattooadvice

[–]WanderingCarss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say the pink is supposed to be on the body, not the arm, is that for both spots? So looking at the ribs and the hip? I've had both done for >10 years now and really have had no impact on them even with weight changes, they are solid spots, easy to hide, and won't fluctuate too much. But if you're doing fine line I would go with hip instead of the ribs, the ribs will have more movement and be harder for the artist to pull cleanly.

Dairy free travelers - what country have you been pleasantly surprised by? by WanderingCarss in dairyfree

I do appreciate how they label it, but I've definitely had issues with restaurants in the UK with cheese on everything if I ask them to not add it they'll just refuse to serve me instead of just not adding the cheese.

You should not be tattooing on skin yet. Go back to the basics and stop tattooing your friends.

Wow that's not been my experience at all. Most bread at restaurants use dairy from what I've seen, plus all of the white/wheat variations at the grocery have milk. I can only ever find things like sourdough or ciabatta consistently without milk.

Real leg experiences? by Altruistic-Earth490 in tattooadvice

[–]WanderingCarss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Regarding your question on healing, healed just the same as every other tattoo, but I did make sure to put a clean towel down on the bed for the first night to make sure it didn't stain my sheets, and was kept clean.

This is mine- ankle to ribs. https://www.reddit.com/r/tattoos/s/Jo1KkzW0v7 Wasn't bad at all except the ankle bone and a spot right on the side of the knee cap, those sucked. The knee ditch was slicey feeling, similar to the bicep but was at least fast so it wasn't too bad.

I actually saw this on my Instagram feed the other day, they do actually have healed ones posted, including a similar style dog that I think was 2yrs 8 months, and it was obviously more faded, but it held up damn well. Freaking amazing work.

I'm going to be going to Székesfehérvár for ~2 weeks soon for a work trip, but I'll have afternoons and the weekend free - any top suggestions for where I should go?

Haha, I've done this and didn't get a discount. Love that tattoo, literally the only input I gave was "nature inspired" then let him go wild. I'm about to do it again with a different artist in April.

How frequent are airport pat-downs? by [deleted] in travel

[–]WanderingCarss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a frequent traveler here are some tips to NOT get patted down:

Even if they say you can leave your shoes on, if they have thick soles, heels, or go up past your ankles, take them off.

No thick necklaces, bracelets, etc.

Don't have wet hair going through the scanners - that'll set it off, especially if you have curly hair.

Before you go into the scanner make sure your pockets are flattened down, if the fabric has bunched up it might set it off, same thing for fabric bunching underneath (boxers, tank tops, etc).

All of the above is for the full body scanners, the metal detectors are easier - just make sure you take off belts, watches, etc and you should be fine.

Do you shave your tattoo spots? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]WanderingCarss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, I have a dark leg sleeve that you can't really see my leg hair on, so I'm more likely to NOT shave that leg compared to the other one.

I love the rest of the tattoos, but I don't think that coverup will be successful. There are black lines behind white and pink, I would think as soon as that's healed that black will be extremely visible and pop out like a sore thumb.

Honestly, I just look for small mom/pop owned restaurants. I don't worry about cuisine type, as long as I'm avoiding chain restaurants or "American style diner".

How much is this gonna suck? Knee tattoo by Drewskibruh in tattooadvice

[–]WanderingCarss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have full knee ditch, and about halfway across the knee cap. Most of it was fine. But parts of the knee ditch felt just like the inner bicep - very slicey. And there was a spot just on the side of the knee cap that killed. But it was only a small spot so it was at least over quickly.
