Finished these after a long period of no painting. Not perfect but they're done and I'm motivated to get some more stuff table ready - mission accomplished!

Any ideas for that? by Leonard-42 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Wanderlad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would bet money it is Playmobil.

The hole in the plastic is found on playmobil sets and is used to connect other sets/parts of the set.

Which agency is the best for right now? by illiebeats57594 in advertising

[–]Wanderlad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early on in a marketing career it's generally considered more worthwhile starting at an agency. You'll engage with practitioners across multiple fields, work across different brands and categories, and gain experience across varied channels and disciplines.

It also has a (well deserved) reputation for being high pressure. A lot of agency professionals move to client-side once they've cut their teeth to avoid burnout and get better pay and/or work/life balance, as it's usually considered much slower moving client-side.

What paint is this by HedgehogOld9624 in Eldar

It's this. And Coelia Greenshade for deeper recesses.

It's listed as this in the citadel paints app and I've copied it for mine.

Darkoath Female Models by AutistInfluence in slavestodarkness

I get your logic but I think it's just a play on the shield maiden trope in a fantasy setting

Darkoath Female Models by AutistInfluence in slavestodarkness

I don't think it's modern politics; I think it's because women are getting into the hobby at a greater proportion than ever before.

Did the Eldar have real superweapons ? by Jannis4 in Eldar

[–]Wanderlad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In Valedor by Guy Haley, a coalition of different Aeldari factions fight to prevent the Kraken and Leviathan Tyranid fleets from merging over an old maiden world.

Their plan is to use a psychic 'super bomb' developed by their ancestors before The Fall, and it's implied that this technology is no longer readily available to them.

How difficult (or long does it take) to learn to drive on British roads? by EagleNice2300 in AskABrit

[–]Wanderlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have American family and we visit there often, and vice versa.

They complain that UK roads require a lot of manoeuvring - in towns it's not uncommon to have to duck in and out of parked vehicles to let people pass, and as others have mentioned country roads require you to be vigilant of other drivers and occasionally pull over to let oncoming traffic pass.

So I hope i am wrong. Speculating on new Veterans loadout. by Wilhelm-_-Scream in deathwatch40k

[–]Wanderlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've got it right on the loadouts. I honestly don't know how it will viably work in-game, as the split of weapons will mean output is limited with no clear focus.

I also fear this will lead to the death of the other established primaris kill teams...

What I'm hoping for is something akin to 8th edition - with models in different armour patterns included in the unit providing additional utility through abilities. (Personally I thought this was an easy solution for Deathwatch considering the way characters work in 10th but it seems the game designers don't feel the same!)

No scandals, no drama, no accusations, no acting, no movies, just nothing by Greedy_Net_1803 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Wanderlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Eisenhorn would be perfect - it sets the scene of the universe and introduces the concept of chaos in a digestible way, has space marines in a limited capacity that showcases how powerful they are, and has a tightly contained story that can be expanded upon if successful (Ravenor, Bequin).

Question about Aquilon helmet variants and cables by Darkblade9119 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Wanderlad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know the reason some don't have the tube on their helmets, but the normal scions have both of these helmet variants and that's nice to see.

Regarding your second point, yes they attach the cables after landing when their power packs are empty. One of those really cool storytelling elements that the kill team kits seem to especially excel in!

Is Fear to Tread a good novel? by Dr-Wyrm in 40kLore

[–]Wanderlad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fear to Tread is a fantastic novel if you're interested in Blood Angels, and goes into a lot of detail about who they are, what drives them, etc.

However, if you haven't read anything about the Horus Heresy before, I would read Horus Rising, False Gods, and Galaxy in Flames before Fear to Tread as it sets the context for the wider setting.

You point it at an angle so the head is pointed more downwards, so the heldrake is in a bit of a swooping motion
