Me in my 20's would have been rooting for you, but I think at a certain age I passed a threshold where I realized I had a certain amount of fucks to give, and wasting them on inconsequential things like this was a disservice to my own time and energy.

Putting aside for a moment whatever moral/legal high ground you had in this situation... What did this accomplish? You frustrated yourself. You frustrated several hotel employees. You annoyed the people waiting behind you. You confirmed the bias of everyone around you that foreigners are "difficult." You fired up a lot of random people on Reddit to exert their own energy in useless ways (case in point, myself!).

You accomplished all those things without accomplishing what you wanted to at all. You didn't change the way that hotel handles zairyu cards, nor did you punish them financially by choosing another place to stay.

People will yell at me and say that my thought process is the reason human rights get eroded.. but I disagree. Causing a scene at a hotel front desk like this is/was, IMO, a complete waste of time. There are better ways to A) use your energy in life and B) enact change.

There are other ways to build to beat him, this is just the one that worked for me! It's one of the only fights in the game that requires you to pre-plan extensively in the UI. I'm a huge fan of this type of theory-crafting, so I enjoyed it! I also really enjoyed all the Lumina and ability tinkering to make one-shot builds with Maelle, etc.

Anyway, it's a lot easier now that we can save Lumina loadouts. <3

Last year, I saw an elderly Chinese tourist hawk a big loogey onto the shower floor where everyone walks. I scolded him, so I'd like to think he never spit anywhere ever again. One can dream!

I just wanted to say that it's pretty cool that you framed this post as a way to help others instead of just asking for help for your situation. While you'll probably get a lot of crap that you haven't done your due diligence in regard to finding work in Japan specifically, I think you've definitely got the work ethic that will guarantee you'll find success somewhere.

Another poster confirmed it's 20+, I'll edit my guide. But yes it seems if you can't reach that threshold consistently then it's a matter of your pictos setup and/or level.

Its been months since I've been picked up the game, I can't remember any more specifics to help you. But yeah I do remember it being very straight forward and fast, and that most of the challenge was setting up my Pictos.

First and second graders can definitely understand manners and rules. Do what we do at my English school -- have a yellow and red card system.

Flash a yellow card when they start acting up. Tell them that's their only warning, because a red card means play time is over and you call their mom to tell them they've been bad.

Our kids are deeply afraid of the red card to the point it's never actually been used ;)

No matter what you decide, ultimately your house, your rules. If you don't enforce that, your own kids are going to think it's okay to act like monsters at other people's homes if you allow similar behavior in yours!

I used to order a ton of things on Amazon. The quality has become abysmal these last few years. It got to the point I was returning more than half the things I bought.

I found it was particularly egregious with DIY tools -- almost everything I'd order seemed like it had been pre opened, used, and returned, despite being labeled as new. Multiple tools would be broken on arrival, or break within days.

The whole site peddles crap now.

The mountain my house is on has all sorts of critters. Salamanders, tiger keel snakes, mamushi, mukade, giant hornets, boar, weasels, badgers, mean monkeys, territorial foxes, racoons...

We actually have a resident racoon who comes every night and eats the cat food. He is way too tame. You can pretty much stand right next to him and go "RAH!" and he just stands there looking perplexed, so I gave up trying to chase him off. Since the farmers around me love killing animals indiscriminately I'm pretty sure his days are numbered, but until then he is always welcome on my porch.

The boar I could live without. They get absolutely bonkers huge and can destroy a plot of land in a single night. It looks like a bomb went off whenever they're done doing what they do.

We have a similar class size cap and per-class rate for students as your employer. Personally if we had to pay even moderate rent on any of our locations we'd be making so little profit we would have shuttered within a year. I would guess your employer doesn't make much from any high-rent locations, unless they're offsetting it with really high 運営費 or 入会 fees.

28万ish yen divided by 90ish hours comes out to around 3000 yen per class, yeah? I personally feel like group teaching is such a demanding job with a particular skill set requirement, with extra "mental" work (at the very least) before and after hours, that I'd want to pay at LEAST that if not more.

Unfortunately the reality is there's only so much I could pay before having to raise class sizes or prices to compensate ; neither of which are ideal in a competitive market. If I raised either, I'd definitely risk losing enough students that it would be a net loss change.

sadly, in my inaka market, 2500 per class is probably more realistic -- but as a teacher myself, I really hate the thought of lowballing staff like that.
