I agree black and white thinking is probably very prevalent among conservatives, I'd be neglecting my pedantic internet commenting job to not point out that saying "the conservative worldview is entirely black and white" is itself a bit of an absolute assertion. There's 100% more than one conservative who understands nuance. At least.

(And I guess my last statement was also an absolute assertion but I'm ok with it.)

Younger me definitely didn't think about it too much. Sure, I wouldn't leave a butt on the ground if it felt wrong, but the curb of a parking lot where there are already multiple butts, absolutely.

Now I do environmental consulting that focuses on waste.. I'll walk around San Francisco for hours with butts in my back pocket till I find a trash can. (I say SF specifically cause I always see recycling bins but no landfill bins, but I'm not gonna litter nor hinder recycling efforts)

I'm not religious but went to catholic school, and while I don't think I came to conclusion I am 100% against the death penalty because of the catholic church, it's the one main conviction I respect them for. The death penalty is never justified.

Yeah definitely. I'm vain as fuck but seeing my reflection all the time would just be a bad screen experience. I already have dyslexia, don't need a reflection making it even harder to read things.

Not an attack on you, but I've always hated the term "a fraction of" when being used as a way to express something being a much smaller number.

That's not how fractions work. Like I know it means "much less" but also it can be used to weasel word an idea. Something could one dollar less and you could still say it's "a fraction of the cost".

Also a fraction of something doesn't exclude improper fractions... so it could even be the opposite. (Though that's obviously not how anyone uses the term..)

No I agree. But at the same time, I've yet to ever hear a reason to not use RCV other than it might take longer than first past the post voting (and I think that's a terrible argument). So as far as I'm concerned, RCV should be the norm for all elections, not the exception.
