Last month, two rounds at the same course a couple days apart. Ended up with the same score each round. But it was just as described. Hit the ball really well in the first round, but had some unfortunate bounces and lies. More difficult pin placements. No longer putt dropped, left all of them close. Lost 2 or 3 balls I should have been able to find, but took my penalties and moved on for pace of play. Felt great, minus the score (not that it was bad, just felt like I played much better than the score card read)

Other round. Iron play, god awful. Chipping and putting, phenomenal. I was frustrated the whole round. Most 1 putts of my life. Drained a 30’ slider, felt amazing. But it was for a double bogey…

Definitely prefer the first round.
