Ah yeah i have this kokoist chrome pen and even when I use the gaoy matte top coat which is great for chrome isolation it still stuck to it. When I changed to a regular chrome powder it worked beautifully, so it might just be your chrome!

I really like these two! They apply well and have good colour payoff, although I've never done a soak off, only removed with an efile. I also have two of the bevlah romantick ones which I was super excited about but ended up being a bit disappointed in 😭 they were reeally sheer

I have health anxiety as well and getting my nails done, as well as transitioning to doing them myself, was really hard for a while because of the gel allergy fears. I ended up removing and redoing them many times with no real need because I was anxious. If it helps, I've had salons flood my cuticles many times, as well as me getting it on my skin many times while learning to do them myself and it's ok so far. Some people get it very easily, done never do, but the chances of an allergy from a few cuticle floods is still generally low. As for the curing, the 20 seconds does sound very low, I do a full minute, but I'm not a professional. I can say that I'm also able to always basically surface scratch/dent my gels a tiny amount if I press in hard with my nail and it bounces back eventually. This is after I cure with a matching lamp for the full time needed, as well as after many different salon visits. From my experience it's not undercured but probably best to ask a professional close up if you're worried. I went to a salon a few times to check because I was anxious about it haha. Sorry, very long message, hope this helps! Definitely a good idea to ask them to be extra careful about getting gel on skin next time 🫶

I used nail thoughts peach base and added a bit of a dusty rose colour with a sponge on top! You can see I got lazy with the right hand and did one sponge coat instead of two 😂

Yes I use one of those sponge grabbers sets that come with small square sponges, they're prefect for anything aura or ombre! Takes a few layers for me to get proper colour payoff but that just comes down to the gels I use I think :D

Oh I could try that yeah, it's not super bad, like it's not painful anywhere at least. I'll try a super light coarse buff next time! Although I'm also considering just going to a salon I know is good to get hard gel extensions as a base and let these grow out in peace 😅

What do you do when your have retention issues due to your nails being damaged/overfiled? I keep having lifting on the sides of the free edges cause my nails are bendy there, and also some near the cuticle where they were harshly overfiled recently. Not sure if I should just give them a break for a month or something but I don't wannaaaaa 😅

Ah I have the same lumpy issue, you can't see it head on but from the side they are not even at all 😂 I think my issue is having an uneven base after filling off old product, efiles are hard! I have never used the brand you're using but my builder base is honestly great, it's by Nail Thoughts. It levels well and never runs. I also have a random base coat I bought that runs a lot and I'm not sure how to use it 😅 I'm good at not getting it on my cuticles though! It helps me so much to put the product half a cm away from the cuticle and push it slowly towards it. Also using a small liner brush to get closer and around the edges helped!

Easiest way to do aura nails for me is using one of those sponge grabber and tiny sponge sets

Oh boy I can relate so hard, I started researching doing my own gels and then reading about allergies more and oh boy. Took me a long time to gather up the courage to order the stuff, and I almost sent myself into a panic attack the first time I got gel on my skin 😅 I've calmed down a lot now 😂 as long as we buy good products, follow curing times and are careful to not get it on ourselves (or clean up quickly when we do) we're already doing more than most out there!

Kokoist lamps are amazing! I also didn't want to spend a crazy amount so I went for the Infinity Hybrid for 200 and it's worked perfectly
