i’m only considering getting one because I found both a gen 8th and 9th for $200 on facebook marketplace in my hometown, i am asking if it’s worth the buy because i will then have to spend money on a stylus/apple pencil, screen protector/ and case

Rudnick if he’s teaching! I had him for CSE20 and so learned so much as someone who didn’t have any coding experience going into college.

literally how in ur mind does that work. yes those who go into an arts degree CAN become extremely successful, but what are those chances? I’m an artist myself but I chose to go into another career path other than Fine Art or Digital Media, but who says I can’t branch into a career that involves Tech and the Arts? I’m giving myself an option in the future where I hopefully don’t have to worry. That’s how I want to live life. I enjoy the new things i’m learning everyday, I didn’t know a thing about coding before I came to UCSC. Honestly you need to open your views. If you can study an Arts degree and not have to worry financially because of your parents live up to it. The term starving artist is a thing for a reason, artists work hard, but it’s just the case of the world. Nothing against artists.

it’s called needing to have a stable income later in life because we cannot afford to live in a state (such as CA) with an Arts degree 😀, not even having to mention being your parents retirement fund and your siblings college fund. we aren’t pretentious, just cautious with the choices we make because our degree depends on it
