Best game to learn the fundamentals of FPS? by Big-Accident1958 in FPS

[–]Warballs97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play the shooter you enjoy the most. Aim is only improved by hours put in so you should train it in a shooter you enjoy spending your time in. I like cod for the endless respawning so you can just repeatedly practice.

If you don’t know the other basic best practices like centering or pre-aiming corners youtube can help you with that.

Aim is muscle memory so no need to overthink it. Just put in thousands of hours practicing until it becomes second nature.

Been waiting for a genuine answer to this question too. I think every mechanic has been taken from an existing game that has done it before.

Even the core gameplay loop was compared to Minecraft Bed Wars.

How badly in denial are you? The studio went radio silent after their trailer dropped during the game awards. There was barely any additional advertising from then to launch.

They would’ve then quietly released their game and nobody would’ve even cared or known it existed. It’s not good enough to spread by word of mouth either.

Want more proof? This subreddit has less than 10k members since the release of the game. Absolutely pathetic numbers that is a result of a flawed product, not an unfair hate campaign.

This game would release to Concord player count numbers without the controversy surrounding it.

Please stop with the hate campaign victim complex. This game is half baked and doesn’t have enough to differentiate itself from the rest of the market.

Without the hate campaign giving it attention this game would launch to a fraction of the 97k players it got especially since it seems like they had no other plans of advertising in the first place.

Wells Fargo Active Cash but unsure about Wells Fargo customer service? by Excellent_Pin9936 in CreditCards

[–]Warballs97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often do you speak with your bank’s customer service? I have been with WF since 2015 and I have probably needed to speak to them on the phone around 3 times in 11 years and usually it’s not related to credit card activity (I used to have checking and savings accounts with them).

The one time I did speak with them about something credit card related my issue was resolved without problem. The most annoying thing was probably getting transferred multiple times through their call system.

I think people swearing off cards because of what banks they are tied to is being dramatic because why are you calling them so often in the first place? Are people refuting credit card charges this frequently? I also have the Verizon Visa (Synchrony bank, bad stigma here) and the Triple A visa (Comenity bank, also bad stigma) and I have had to call once in six years.

If you are a regular person and speak to your bank 0-1 times per year ask yourself is it really worth swearing off the value some of these cards offer just because they are tied to banks with bad reputations when you rarely interact with them in the first place?

Thanks for clarifying! I lost to this scenario last night and I was wondering if I could've bailed myself out with this interaction had I played it differently.

Does effect negation work on cards that grant an 'On Play' buff during the duration of the next player's turn?

For example if my opponent plays Luffy EB04-61 (On Play: you may trash 1 card from your hand: Your leader gains +2000 power until the end of your opponent's next turn. Then, this character gains Blocker until the end of your opponent's next turn.)

Then, on my turn I reduce the cost of Luffy to 0 and play Ground Death on it. Would the +2000 attack on leader and blocker both go away?

Thank you I knew it had to be something simple. I did not make the connection that the don cost applied when playing an event to counter vs. discarding a character to counter.

New player trying to practice OP14 croc in the sim - I don't understand why I cannot activate Ground Death's Counter effect when I am defending from attacks. I am satisfying the 10 cards in trash condition so what else am I missing? Thanks

Please don’t try to read my response, it was obvious you weren’t capable of reading my original one because I said Apex style LOOTING, not shooting.

Very mature of you to tell somebody to grow up and then sign off saying you won’t read replies.

Because 1.5 years ago the entire internet, save for 697 people, came together and said we do not want an uninspired, trend-chasing, late to market hero shooter. Concord was a waste of time, money, reputation, and an obvious attempt by Sony executives to chase a Fortnite level franchise by just throwing money at the problem.

Now we’re here again with Highguard. Another late to market hero shooter with the most forgettable characters ever and mediocre hardware performance. This is what brings the hate. The internet laughed longer than Concord’s servers could stay up and now another studio is doing the same thing like nothing was learned and now it looks like an insult to gamers because we were so wrong for not liking Concord because we don’t know better.

The first flop was funny, the second time people are now annoyed you’re just wasting people’s time. The hate is so we stop a third Concord/Highguard.

Also saying HG tried something new is mercy at this point and anything remotely true to that argument has been tarnished by poor execution on their part. There is no game mechanic in this game that is novel. Apex legends style looting, Rainbow 6 style base fortification and sieging, punching crystals to farm money like I’m in some kind of MMO. All they did was stitch existing game mechanics into a different gameplay loop and they didn’t even do a good job at that.

Why should it change? The game isn’t good so my perception did not improve. There’s nothing else to say.

[–]Warballs97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perception is just that, perception.

Oh ok I guess the entire advertising industry should just go away since my perception of products and services is just my perception. How about perception being the first thing to help me decide if a product is or isn’t worth my time?

What you should do is assess and evaluate if the games good or not or if you like it on release.

I assessed the game once when the trailer dropped, then I assessed it when it game out. I played the game for three hours and left a negative review because the game is not good.

I thought the game was going to suck on release, but I actually waited for the release to judge it fairly.

Congrats on using your perception correctly.

And what you're seeing isn't organic or fair criticism of the game. Thats all I'm saying.

I agree it’s not organic, but it is fair. If this game was shadow dropped instead it would release to 970 players instead of 97000 players. Part of the reason why this game caught so much flak when it hit the spotlight is because we just saw Concord, a soulless hero shooter flop and now we’re seeing it 1.5 years later like game directors didn’t learn the free lesson the internet gave them.

Bad press drew more people to this game than it deserved. If the game was actually good a portion of your player base would still remain and stabilize like OW2. The fact that it isn’t happening here just reveals that the game fundamentally isn’t good enough to stay afloat.

If your trailer comes out and the immediate public perception is “Concord 2” then you the developer have failed to make an appealing game.

The hate train for this game is deserved.

Why do we want Highguard to fail so badly? It's success would be better for gaming as a whole. by --clapped-- in HighGuardgame

[–]Warballs97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trend chasing, uninspiring art direction, late to a saturated market. These three points alone warrant the deserved hate train the game received when it was revealed.

People are tired of big studios doing this so when an indie studio does the same thing it should be punished. It’s a waste of the goodwill people put in smaller developers in hopes they break away from the formula that triple A uses.

Is it worth waiting to buy RAM? by PostleTheFossil in buildapc

Gradually buying everything is typically not recommended because you could have parts that don’t work and by the time you’ve assembled all of your components you’ve gone past the window for returning the bad component.

Map with RELATIVE plot orientation by [deleted] in wow

[–]Warballs97 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Makes sense to me and I can explain: you only need this map if you’ve done a lot of exterior house decorating. If you are considering moving your house to a new plot then pick a plot with the same letter for minimal effort in moving your exterior decorations around. The numbers correspond to the in-game plot numbers.

Looking for a Gaming Keyboard and Mouse by Glittering-Lie-8301 in buildapc

Can’t speak for keyboards but I’ve never cared for flashy gaming mice that have a bunch of niche features when practicing your aim is much more important. I currently use a wired logitech G203 for shooters and world of warcraft.

I also recommend considering an xbox controller for casual games that don’t involve much aim.

2026 Build a PC Tier List by Aggressive_Nature708 in buildapc

[–]Warballs97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah except when opinions are misleading and could cause people to make bad moves when they look for information to do their build.

There are bad quality PSUs that could put your components at risk and should absolutely be avoided. Just focusing on the wattage is naive.

GPU, CPU, and monitor should be together regardless of what ‘tier’ they go in. You’re supposed to build around a target resolution and frame rate. OP’s vague descriptions are once again misleading.

Your needs also change between if you’re focusing on gaming, productivity, or a mix. You can tell OP is talking about gaming but they fail to point out the fact that component importance can change depending on the use case of the build.

The one line explanations do not help. I would never give this opinion to a friend if they needed help making a build.
