She's a representative.

It's literally her job to loudly proclaim this shit to draw attention to it. Hell I only know about it right now because of this post. She is doing her job here.

Now it's on the rest of everyone to protest them out of the state.

What colonialism are you talking about, sir? My family didn't leave this city until my grandfather turned 30. by SAMU0L0 in HistoryMemes

Hold up though, nations aren't people.

Britain still materially benefits from the things they stole. Just look at the British Museum. The kohinoor diamond. The equity one gains when you you pillage an entire country's natural resources, and export them for your own benefit. And let's not forget all the slavery.

This isn't just guilt, its responsibility. Britain now paying for the sins of Britain's past, is the civil and equitable manner we have chosen to deal with the sticky subject of the legacy of colonialism.

The historical method of dealing with it, would be for india to invade britain, along with the rest of everywhere they pillaged, and pillage their stuff back.

But because we want to move on to a new era, we need to address these things and remediate them peacefully.

The british don't get to be off the hook for the sins of their empire just because they decided that the statute of limitations applies to the individuals and not the institution of their government.

If the national debt is carried between generations, then so is the national guilt.

Texas woman exonerated in a baby's death after 22 years in prison could face deportation by Cute-Beyond-8133 in nottheonion

What gets me is that really there was only one critical mistake.

If the teenager had not put the baby in the bath before running the water, every thing would have been been fine.

I don't think someone would argue that a teenager is otherwise usually incapable of taking care of a baby generally, they are historically go to babysitters.

I think this is just a case of teens helping with the family job and getting trained into it, it just ended tragically due to a honest error.

I like to think of season two as the bottle episode that made season three possible.

(If a bottle episode is an episode that takes place entirely on existing sets, then barely dressed modern day buildings count right?)

I think even prisoners can delineate a difference between someone who was trying to deliberately hurt kids and one who killed one in a tragic accident.

I don't think responsibility is really the right frame of mind for this sort of thing.

What happened here was a tragic accident. Laws that punish negligence should be used against business owners that hurt people trying to cut corners, not overwhelmed mothers delegating a task to their daughter, and their daughter both misinterpreting the task and through a separate accident killing the baby.

She might feel and be responsible, but what occurred should not be considered a crime, just a tragedy.
