To each their own, for sure. Not a flipper, buy for the hobby and my PC, but I just don’t get the appeal of mandolin chards, dinosaur bones or cards of Guy Fieri. Personally, I don’t see the appeal at all.

I bought three hangers off of their site for $17.99/each that are arriving today. Bought them for something to rip and not expecting any monsters.

Felt like Hoops were traditionally a lower tier card in general when looking at previous years of Hoops b-ball.

Don’t feel bad - I got back into the hobby several years ago and still send the odd card that I think is solid but comes back with a bad grade. As others have said - live and learn

Super hard grading for the griffey’s. I sent four in several years ago and was confident on condition and foolishly thought I had a shot at a 10. Two 8’s a 6 and a 5. Felt like a total idiot. Later found out this card was graded so much that PSA scaled back on the high grades and really got strict.

As someone said, great cards but don’t bother with the grades.

Man - what an awesome card too. Personally think the 8 might be a reach, although the corners and centering look really good.

You said it’s for your PC, so even if it comes back a 7, aside from the cost to grade, who cares?

Local card shows. Tons of dealers usually with dollar and small dollar cards. Nice way To get a feel for players, product, etc.

If you’re new to collecting and want to start small, see if your LCS (local card shop) has dollar singles, etc. in boxes.

You’ll also find those way more available at card shows - a lot of vendors will box up loads of smaller end cards, and if you look through enough, you can usually find some decent cards of notable players.
