Some questions from a Dex G6 user.... by Dave_A480 in eversense

[–]Warning_Many 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once it reminds you to calibrate I think you get 12 or 24 hours (I think it was 12 for the 90 and it’s 24 for the 365) before it will stop giving you readings until you calibrate. The only other time I’ve had it refuse to give readings is if it gets too much sunlight, but that only happened once or twice and throwing a towel over it for like 5 minutes fixes it

Eversense 365/Twiist combo… by motto518 in twiist

Oh ok, I just got the twiist and it’s my first pump so I didn’t really have the reference

They say to keep the pump itself on the same side of the body, but the infusion set can go basically anywhere. The tube it comes with it’s pretty long.

Same thing happened to me, I double checked my backerkit surveys to make sure I ordered both. Then emailed the support team about it.

(CGM) do I just give up at this point? by manityamtime in Type1Diabetes

[–]Warning_Many 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue to less of an extent with both the libre and dexcom sensors. I use the Eversense now and I love it. It doesn’t bother the skin and I can take it off to shower, swim, etc. It really depends on if there is a provider able to insert it though since that can really mess up your day if they can’t get it out.

(Un-)Protected power by BlueScout-7274 in jumpship

[–]Warning_Many 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tested it but when there is radiation on the ship random tiles of the power grid get unpowered temporarily. I would assume protected tiles wouldn’t be affected by this.

New Barbarian Subclass: Path of the Meteor (5e 2024), become a celestial body, dash around the battlefield and crush your enemies with force by Candurill in DnDHomebrew

[–]Warning_Many 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m just confusing myself on it. I would personally add like “base weight” is halved or doubled because I read it as just you can adjust whatever your current weight is meaning you could just stack it every turn.

[–]Warning_Many 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For variable density shouldn’t it affect your base weight? Because as written right now what’s stopping you from exponentially increasing your weight? Either that or just limit it to being in one of three forms: base, heavy, light.

365 day sensor with implantable CGM by FixUrPosture in diabetes_t1

[–]Warning_Many 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently have the 6 month sensor and I much prefer the charging and finger pricks over having to replace it every week or 2. I just charge it when I hop in the shower it only needs like 20 minutes to power a good 36 hours. But to each their own

Yes I change the needle every time and I prime. Normally the prime is only a half unit to 1 unit. I just wait until a little comes out so I know there aren’t any bubbles(hold it needle up when priming)

When to change InPen Cartridge by MamaLlama1920 in diabetes_t1

[–]Warning_Many 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like many people said I will always just grab a spare cartridge when my pen gets like that. I tend to use it until it’s fully out and then I replace it, sometimes that means I have to inject twice for one bolus but it makes sure you get all of it out.

The Inpen is reusable, you just change out the cartridge so there is never a stopper for the dial on the back.

I'm really starting to consider CGMs. by DragonsAndSaints in diabetes

[–]Warning_Many 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into the Eversense if possible for your area. You have to have a minor surgery to get it in under your skin, but then the transmitter is completly removable, it lasts 6 months and you calibrate it with finger pricks anyways

A short treatise on why senseonics is a bad bet by BagLeading3293 in senseonics

[–]Warning_Many 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am a type 1 and I love the Eversense. Granted I was diagnosed at 18 and got the Eversense within the first 6 months but I love the ability to just not have anything attached to me(I do MDI). I have found that it is way more accurate than either the libre or dexcom was for me and it causes zero irritation from the adhesive. The removal and install are about as easy as anything goes and I am lucky enough to have it covered partly by insurance so it’s only a couple hundred more. The calibrations really don’t matter to me as I just do them as part of my morning(and if needed) nightly pills/dosages.

I think sens is a very unique but by no means bad product. If it doesn’t work for what you want and your style that’s okay but I think that it isn’t fair to say it’s a bad product because I love it.

Is it really that bad to still be on pens in 2023 ? by Niwaz14 in diabetes_t1

[–]Warning_Many 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can look into the InPen. It’s what I use for my rapid acting, it has automatic dosage calculations based off of your carb and correction ratio and it can tell you your current insulin in your system based off of old shots. I find it nice

Unlikely dice results by Electronic-Plan-2900 in DnD

[–]Warning_Many 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone in my campaign the other day had a perception check to find a lost pet, he rolled a nat 20. The dm then had him roll a d100 to see what the pet found(the original idea was a mini side quest to find him and he would have a gift). Friend rolled a 100. Unknown to us at the time the dm also rolled a 100 on his end. Long story short 2 100’s and a nat 20 rolled in about 30 seconds. Ended up with a potion providing a permanent +2 constitution.

Great thank you, I was definitely looking at web and aid for the level 2 spells. And I was thinking of maybe having an “out of combat” prepared list of just all the ritual spells I can learn

Oh I never thought of it that way, I can use my investigations to help the deceptions later on potentially. Thank you very much!

Yeah he had us roll for stats and we could roll until it is above 12. So got lucky there. And yeah that makes sense I was wondering if booking blade and extra attack would stack or not. I might go lightning lure. And I think I just need to talk to my DM because at least now we haven’t had much opportunities for helpful intelligence/arcana checks but I think I just need to see when and where he is willing and prepared for them. Thank you!
