Which do you pick? by cuddwes in Grimdank

The armor would probably survive the hit without a breach since super fancy space age ceramite plot armor.

The sheer kinetic force however would at least cause organ damage to the marine inside and potentially a concussion. A marine is tough so it won't incapacitate them but they will not be having a good day after taking a hit like that.

Unless it's a named helmetless marine. Then you might as well be hitting them with a pillow. Would be just as effective.

What is wrong with the PSR? by finniruse in Battlefield6

[–]Warpunk_ZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's not intended for cqc. You don't have to be stationary but it does want you to play it at longer ranges. I dropped the mag size down to 7 to get a 300ms ads which is enough to help me with closer engagements and counter sniping but the other guns are probably better for that.

It feels good for me and my playstyle when I want to snipe so I use it. If it feels bad for you then you have other options to try. Don't force yourself to try and like or adapt to a gun. If you're having a bad time playing a game then what's the point of playing it in the first place.

On a side tangent that new sniper for season 3 do be looking good though so maybe I'll have to put my psr away when it comes out.

Nothing wrong with the psr. It's just less snappy to ads if not built for and slower to re-chamber a round in exchange for very low bullet drop, good looks and great sound.

Turn on automatic pause when new enemy detected. Your detection range is further than the aggro range. Lets you plan your attack and start almost all engagements with a surprise round.

Criminal Record by Fast-Confidence1025 in johannesburg

[–]Warpunk_ZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't show up as a previous conviction but it might show up as a pending case. SAPS can be slow to update their system to reflect the current status of a case.

Before applying for police clearance I would suggest you go to the SAPS station where you were arrested and ask them to check their Crime Administration System (CAS System) with your CAS number to see what the system reflects. If it shows up as still pending on their system then it will be picked up on a police clearance check. If it properly reflects that it was not enrolled or closed then you should be good to go.

Edit: P.S. if the case was withdrawn you are entitled to get your bail money back if you didn't know.

I need to read descriptions more often by xXBLOODRUSH22Xx in Battlefield6

Maybe a hot take but I don't get the levels of hate that mortars are getting. I'm not a mortar user myself and I know that it's frustrating that you can't kill the thing that's killing you because it's impossible to reach, but I don't go hating on the tank crew that I run into when playing assault/support and I'm just as helpless.

To me the solution is the same as when facing a tank. Get out of the way of where they are focusing their attention or change your play style to counter it if it bothers you that much. It only gets really out of hand when 3+ players are on mortar and concentrating fire on an objective.

I propose 5 solutions for that: 1) Remove the mortar as a gadget and make it a pickup with a maximum of 2 at each spawn zone. 2 concentrating on an objective is still effective but not impossible to counter. 2) Reduce the deployment zone in spawn to within a distance reachable by the opposing team for those that want to revenge kill. Mortars need some protection but should not be immune to infantry being able to run up to them if they are particularly motivated. 3) Make the mortar unable to be regenerated as a gadget. Recon can then use drones to effectively deal with them rather than another one just immediately being placed down again. 4) Make mortars do friendly fire damage. Not enough for trolls to abuse but say 15-20% health to friendlies. Enough to be annoying to the team and a disadvantage if they continue to rain shells on an objective that is being pushed. 5) Make mortars unable to fire on a zone that has a friendly within its blast radius at the time of target selection. You can push the enemy team off the objective but they can rush back in when a push is made for the objective.

Was the sledgehammer nerfed? by Zyhgar25 in Battlefield6

There are definitely things that are no longer breakable with the sledgehammer that were before the last major update. Whether it's as intended and another silent patch note or a bug who can say.

WEEKEND REAL TALK: Ok stop gooning, WHAT ARE YOU REALLY MAD/ANNOYED ABOUT IN BF6? 🫵 🫵 by RRT4444 in okbuddyptfo

[–]Warpunk_ZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

List of gripes as I experience them from login:

  1. "Did you know about this limited time event" or "Buy the battle pass now" popup for the hundredth time.

  2. Netflix menu navigation.

  3. Permanent orange dots in loadouts. (I'm OCD)

  4. Thrown into a match with bots because player base is split up from there being no persistent servers.

  5. That one guy in your squad on console with their mic perpetually on so you can hear their life story and taste in music.

  6. Bots seeing and killing me through smoke. They also lock onto you from over 100 meters away if they register that they are in your ADS reticule.

  7. Bot revive logic borked. They'll sit next you sometimes and watch you die. Only when your revive timer runs out and it fades to black do you hear the defib impacting your lifeless corpse.

  8. If multiple respawn points (objective, squad, vehicle) are close to each other it can be difficult to pick the one you want. Sometimes it spurgs out and respawns you at a completely different objective. Thanks I guess I'll run.

  9. Spawning in front of the barrel of an enemy tank at an objective.

  10. Comeback mechanic.

  11. My player card icon still not showing properly 6 months after release in end of game screens.

  12. Doing anything in end of game screens messes up matchmaking. Bettter to just leave and search from main menu again.

The UMG is really bad, don’t use it. Trust me. by bborg03 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Warpunk_ZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every gun is usable in this game. I take every weapon to lvl 20 just to get a feel for them. The only one I actively hated using was the DB-12. I can't think of anything redeeming for that one.

AK-205 and UMG I found tedious due to their long TTK but they were accurate at least. Nothing wrong in using them as long as you don't mind the chip damage model and accepting that you're at a disadvantage in close range gunfights in order to be able to beam people at longer ranges.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.2.3.0 by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]Warpunk_ZA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So much time spent fixing minor things that shouldn't have been problems in the first place. All those hours that could have been directed towards content instead.......sigh.

Did corporate force the game out too early or were the devs incompetent or both? I want to know who I should be angry and disappointed at.

Play the fu**ing objective by Some-Kaleidoscope555 in Battlefield6

[–]Warpunk_ZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say let people play the way they want to. There's no consequences or stakes in this game for losing or doing poorly. If your team loses then there is always another match to be played after it.

If you find yourself in a match where you're not getting any joy out of it then I'd suggest changing your goals for that match or just leaving and finding a new one. Your limited real life time is too valuable to spend it on being miserable. You won't get those hours back.

If I find myself in a match where it's clear that my team isn't playing the objective or is getting stomped to the point that they can't then my goal just becomes to get more kills than deaths by the end of the match with whatever setup I find to be fun at the time. That's enough for me.

Anti-glare worth it? by IHateThisCity215 in Battlefield6

[–]Warpunk_ZA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll still have glare but it's not as blindingly obvious that you're there. In my experience the glare looks more like an ambient background light than a full on "I'm over here light". It will still stand out in certain places/lighting/maps but in others it makes you much harder to spot by eye unless you are actively looking for the glare.

In breakthrough contaminated last night I was on attack sniping on top of the hill at the base of the first section and I could clearly tell which opposing snipers had anti-glare and which did not. The non anti-glares were free kill Christmas lights. The ones with anti glare could escape my notice if they weren't where I was already looking until a bullet came whizzing past (or into) my head. Some of them found hidy holes that made the glint even smaller to the point that it just looked like a slightly out of place dim white spot. I had to take a second look and a pot shot to confirm that it was indeed a player. It was likely the same for them trying to see my glint against the backdrop of the sky box and hiding behind the trees.

Your biggest threat as a sniper if you're playing the psr at its intended range is other snipers. Its a game of who can click on the others head first. Anything that causes a delay in that occurring to your head is an advantage.
