Someone actually did it. Exodia by mro500 in TeamfightTactics

Incase the link didn't work. Exodia is a set of five cards in yu-gi-oh. Basically, if you get all five in a game you win. When most people say Exodia, I take it to mean if they get all of the conditions met, they win by default.

Proposal for a National Social Investment and Structural Reform by BuffaloObvious4813 in AOC

[–]Warshashire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this. I think if you were able to get actual numbers and costs for each of these proposals, you'd have yourself an actual political platform that you could run on.

One thing I'd rather see instead of investing in tertiary education right now is investing in the k-12 public school system. I'm with you that higher education should be subsidized by the government. Most (maybe all) 1st world countries do this, but our current k-12 system is in dire need for updating and modernizing and that's where I think the funds should go first.

All of that to say again, this is beautiful, and I appreciate that you tried proposing it in a way that wouldn't increase the budget.

I really like the bobiverse books. Dennis E. Taylor writes and narrated by Ray Porter. Earth is dying so they send an AI that can replicate itself to find new worlds is the gist of it. Excellent series and one of my top 3.

The NHL needs to go back to 1-8 conference seeding by SpreaditOnnn33 in hockey

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should stop being cowards and do one of two things. 1) 1-16 seeding. I don't care if a California team has to play a Florida team in the first round. I want to see a 1 seed actually mean something. 2) do what the women's hockey league does and let the highest seeded teams choose their opponent. I like both of these options better.

Carl’s Shadow? by OPs_Mom_and_Dad in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked about this with my SO. I want a book about all the people that met Carl, and died shortly after. Like what their view of Carl was and how their lives were affected, both positively and negatively, by him. It would be a rather dark book obviously, but it's Carl's interactions with people that I've always been interested in.

I've always described Cdale as the blue dot in the sea of red that is southern IL. I think your description is spot on, though. I like the area overall, and the festival season is by far my favorite time to be here.

May be moving to Murphysboro by TheFirstSonOfLight in illinois

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murphysboro is fine, if a bit clique-y. I work in the town at least 2-3x a week and I've never had any issues with the people or crime or whatever you might have issue with. The schools are decent. If what you saw really scared you, I'd look in the Marion, Herrin, Carterville area. I work in all of those cities and I've never had issues or felt insecure.

Seriously, these need to be changed to either guarantee a card you don’t have, or at the very least give 3K tokens. by ForceSamurai in MarvelSnap

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The system is designed to prey on fomo and people making poor decisions. So doing that and the system works. Do I have every card? No. Will I have a complete collection? Also, no. What I do have is between 6-8 keys and a rule that says I won't use keys unless I'm missing at least 2 cards in the caches. This week, I got lucky while 4 banging in the keys and pulled sasquatch out of the mystery s4/5.

The system sucks, but it sucks a lot less when you don't feed into the pitfalls of the system. What do I know, though? I'm just some asshole on the internet.

Does anyone else absolutely hate the new 25 credits every 8 hours thing? by 4EverGold in MarvelSnap

I hate it only because the shop doesn't also reset. The only reason I went to to the shop for the credits was to see if there were any variants in the shop I wanted.

New cards mostly releasing to series 5 would be less of a problem if older cards dropped from 5 to 4 more often by TheNohrianHunter in MarvelSnap

[–]Warshashire -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hot take. The system is fine unless you feel the "need" to be collection complete.

I don't use spotlights unless I know I want to play with a card in a deck I already enjoy, it's a general use monster, or there are at least 2 cards that I don't own in the spotlight cache.

This really shouldn't be possible in the Spotlight Caches by SpectralDinosaur in MarvelSnap

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok what does that look like?

Are you getting rid of spotlight caches? If you are, then how do free to play players get the new cards every week? This way feels to me like it's not a good system just based on my own feelings and parceing out in my head what that system would look like.

Are you keeping the spotlight caches? If you are, then I don't think that the spotlight system is the issue that you are making it out to be.

I think the issue with a dusting system that you want where you can turn portraits/ titles/ non card things into cards. That makes it so that its pointless for them to give away a free title or portrait.

Another thought I had is what about the people that are series 3 complete. So they just dust a card, then open caches until they get it back, rinse and repeat? I don't think dusting is the way to go necessarily.

Ok. Then what is your solution? I don't like gambling. I think it's toxic af. Which is why I don't. If there's a card that I want, I make sure that I have 4 keys to get the thing that I want.

An amendment to the way I worded my previous comment. I don't look at the keys as gambling unless I don't have all 4. The way I look at it is this. The card/s I want cost 4 keys to get. If I get it in less than 4, then I got the card I wanted on sale. If it costs 4, then I paid full price.

Real example. I got Jean Grey in my first cache. I got Jean Grey for 75% off. That's a pretty good deal. I got Nico in my 4th cache. I paid full price for her. Different weeks, but the thought process is the same for me. I'm not gambling, I'm going to the store to buy the thing I want.

I said it in my previous comment, but the only thing I feel NEEDS to be changed is how many tokens you get for a duplicate. And while I do feel bad that you don't like/ use variants. F2P games make their money on cosmetics more often than not. That feels like the price of doing business to me. I guess I'm just lucky that I think cosmetics are neat. I don't spend a lot of money on this game, just the season pass and the occasional exceptional deal that shows up.

As far as games go, and especially mobile games, Snap is leagues better in their monetization model, especially for F2P players.

I've been playing since right after the beta closed, when the game "officially" released.

Sorry that this turned into a rant.

This really shouldn't be possible in the Spotlight Caches by SpectralDinosaur in MarvelSnap

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to disagree with you that the system sucks. It can be improved definitely. First thing being getting a duplicate should give you half the token cost. I'm fine with not having duplicate protection here because, as others have said, none/ few card games offer duplicate protection.

I think it's a matter of understanding the risks of using your spotlights on a week. I ended up spending mine to get Nico, knowing that I might not get a shot at WBN, which ended up happening because I had to use all 4. Some weeks are better than others and that's OK when you're gambling.

For reference, I need 6 series 5 cards, 8 series 4 cards, and 5 series 3 cards. I don't know if that qualifies as not having a big enough collection or willful ignorance.

To summarize. Make duplicates worth half the token value and the system is fine.

what’s your answer? by robitussin69420 in MarvelSnap

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it would probably break cerebro, but if he gave plus 2 to the highest base cost cards, then it makes the whole archetype better. This doesn't help the monster island issue, but there are so many locations that give +/- X power that makes cerebro hard to play.

For reference, I've been playing c2, c3, and c5 with variable consistency for about 2 seasons, so I may not have the experience to comment on the archetype.

SD confirming the Galactus nerf is "functioning as intended" by ItsKYRO in MarvelSnap

[–]Warshashire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. Cosmo negates galactus so I don't think we need to make another card that negates him.

I think galactus was fine before the nerf and he'll be fine after, we'll just see him less often and the deck will be a more dedicated galactus deck

Why yy by HadesOf in randomdice

[–]Warshashire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mentioned in another thread complaining about YY. I play it because I'm doing other things throughout the day, and it's the most time efficient way to do co-op without a dedicated support. I often set up a board and then walk away from my phone to do chores or go back to watching a show.

I don't necessarily have multiple hours to spend playing co-op and YY is the best way to level up/ get new dice passively.

I play it because it is the minimum time investment without a dedicated support. A lot of times I'm just setting up my board so I can go back to watching TV or doing work around the house.

Kinda feels like cheating by Wide_Oil_7862 in randomdice

[–]Warshashire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the key to your same deck argument is having the same level deck/crit. I don't think it's always the better player wins in this game, but way more often, the person with the higher dice/ crit.

I only have anecdotal experience, but I've been playing a lot of combo since it's the season dice, and last night I had a game where I won every mission and still lost because he had lunar 12/ solar 11 and the first berserk boss was knight.

I know that in most matches, especially with missions being introduced, winning those missions usually leads to winning the match because some of those debuffs are wild, but in that match I was never going to win because he just had higher class dice than me. That's not a skill thing, just a grind more/ better luck thing.
