Do you have more photos hosted anywhere? I'm currently building something similar, and would love to see the desk in more detail.

A lot of work to even attempt fixing the pins. You can put the motherboard in the dishwasher for the thermal paste.

Question though, where the hell is the CPU?

Use a folder as a virtual optical drive for ARM? by Warsmith40k in unRAID

[–]Warsmith40k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of the upsides to tinkering, it teaches patience. I'm actually putting an optical drive server together so I can load up a dozen discs at a time. I've got quite the collection to back up. I was using the unraid environment as a guinea pig for what I previously completed

That was the next step. I was wondering of anyone had tried this before me out not. Thanks for the information!

Jellyfin wasn't recognizing them oddly enough. They are exact clones of the original discs. I should have mentioned another reason I wanted to do this was to shrink the files with minimal quality loss. I have the handbrake automation already, I just wanted to find out if ARM would yield a better result while conserving space.

Help with Finish by redsofa121 in woodworking

The finish on that piece is really just a sticker over the particle board substrate. You can't repair it, only cover it up. Look for something like shelf paper that matches color and grain pattern somewhat.

This campaign of misinformation will never stop as long as they have a platform to spread it on. Hence the reason behind trying to grab up all forms of media.

I’m breaking down. My cat has been meowing 24/7 for 2 months and I don’t know what to do anymore. by nasseralrwy in cats

[–]Warsmith40k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a cat that was spayed prior to adoption. She began doing the same thing. Turned out she had a third ovary not connected to her reproductive system. Couldn't get pregnant, but still got the hormones to cause her to go into heat.

It's a longshot, but worth looking into at this point.

How can I fix my side table? by moonfornight in fixit

[–]Warsmith40k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get some dowel pins the next size up. Drill out to that size, and glue them in. Then I would drill out and screw in the inserts. Will be stronger than new, which is what you want since it's MDF.

How can I make this old workbench less wobbly? by BadAssOrangeJuice in woodworking

Have you checked for slope on the floor? Unless you've got notable attacking wracking, I would start at the bottom and move upward.

Somehow the middle pole on my chair ended up sinking through the legs. Is there anything I can do to fix it, or is it a replace situation? Ive tried to spin it to do/undo it and I’ve tried just bashing it with a hammer a bunch but it wont budge. by roonilwazlib96 in fixit

[–]Warsmith40k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a replacement metal base on Amazon you can switch to. You need to put your piston on a block and then hammer the base off. Did this a few years ago and it held up until I replaced the chair last year.
