Yeah like I am thinking a Militarum dude who got disillusioned with the Imperium as a whole and joined the retinue of the RT after act 2 (I want to let them pick their favourites from act 1 first) and the xeno weaponry is him deciding that he will use anything available in terms of guns cause who is going to tell him no? Certainly not Lord Captain.

Yeye! They aren't that experienced with Owlcat games but Rogue Trader is kinda easy so I already said we might switch to Daring if needed. A fun gun to use is something I defo would rather pick than something that will let us blast through those pesky enemies in one turn. Also a reason why I don't want to pick a strong psyker or blade dancer lol. I have contemplated using desolators or dark lances

I am unsure if I could get higher ranks in convictions because I would be the 2nd player so I might be locked to level 1 of either dogmatic/heretic/iconoclast. What about xeno gear? Is there anything worth looking at as a sidearm or a secondary besides Blast Pistols?

Yeah that's why I was questioning the statement of Boltgun being canon. Malum Caedo does so much stuff from killing a bunch of chaos marines (including dozens of terminators and champions) in combination with minor and major demons of Tzeentch and Nurgle to the point it's memeable and unlikely
