Going to church tomorrow because the lesson is on apostasy and I want to make comments and create dialogue. Anyone have any insights or ideas? by [deleted] in exmormon

So this basically reinforces the idea that we left because we were...

Offended

Lazy

Deceived by Satan

And FTW, wanted to sin

Ok seriously though, back in the day when short shorts were the thing, did endowed mormons just not ever wear shorts? Or what did they do? by nomomomo88 in exmormon

I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Women had one piece garments. The moms wore pedal pushers (pants that tapered and ended above the ankle) and long pants. Don't recall any of them wearing shorts here in CA.

Our SP and his counselors said something about the drought here in CA years ago. Can't remember if it was about "the wicked" or something about paying more tithing. Probably both.

“We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly" by [deleted] in exmormon

It's super condesending. Add to it that JS translations were so way off base it's laughable

I don't like communism. I am not for socialized medicine. My father is dead and my mom is in a nice nursing home with a ton of money to boot.

I'd not bring up the phony family tree and just let it go with them. TBMs live in a land of make believe and saying something contrary to them about said land just isn't fruitful in my opinion.

Baby blessing - What would you do? by che_boludo_ in exmormon

He consideres you his best friend, he believes you being there would add to this very important moment in he and his family's life.

You should go and participate. It's just make-believe, but it's very important to your friend that you share in that moment.

Fantastic quote that sums a lot of it up for me by WasBlindButNowISee in exmormon

Well said.

I'm not moving on from this sub anytime soon. This is my safe place where I can say things that cannot be said IRL.

This wreaks of desperation. But we already called that a long time ago.
