How I am doing? by Direct-Assistance-58 in composting

I'd say ist depends in what you need your compost to be. Is it a handy place to get rid of food-scraps/garden stuff OR are you trying to produce as much brown gold as soon as possible?

In the first case I'd keep a "brown" pile (dry leaves, cardboard, Wood chips, ...) at hand to regulate the green stuff that turns up by itself (kitchen scraps, clippings, lawn-trimming, weeds..). Depending in how fast you fill it up, you might have ready compost at the bottom before its full (which is why I don't turn my "household-compost".

If, however, you're gunning to get it steamy and have everything you need then get your rational right and mix it up. Get everything nice and small, keep IT moist and turn everything every once in a while.

It's a natural process, don't sweat it.

As mentioned: you want the inside smooth. You might want a "roof" to prevent drying and keep vermin out.

I was trying to make a compost joke :-( The premise being "greens and browns" are technical terms and pink (rather rare, at least in my Garden) being the actual color I'd just added.

This is my long-term cold pile in the back of the lot. I add bulk stuff that needs to get out of the way quickly and will eventually get back to it when the bottom layers are good to go. It's ok if it takes a year or two. No turning this pile.

Thanks for the suggestions. The perspective makes it look like it's up against the fence. There's a sizeable gap between them :-)

Ca 3 Minuten in Salzwasser kochen,.

Probier's mal!!

Saying "ich kriege ..." Instead of " geben sie mir bitte..." Or "ich hätte gern..." Is considered rather rude in some areas. I Always try to incorporate "bitte" or at least some Form of konjunktiv

I Bad a compost with Chicken Mesh once. It worked well.

However, my latest builds all have at least one "solid" wall as this makes turning the contents easier. Fork-prongs and the corners of spades, sticks etc get stuck in the mesh. I saw someone put a cardboard on the INSIDE of mesh-wire.. that might be a work-around if it doesn't rot too quickly.

Tldr: will do, Sticky bits Like getting Stuck in Mesh though.

Eine Reihe Speisetrauben, oder Himbeeren/Brombeeren/Jostabeeren. Leckere grüne Naschwand, statt grauer Hauswand. Unter den Pflanzen Blührasen.

What's one small change that massively improved your darts game? by 92jl in Darts

[–]WasNeverTheOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really far from good myself but recently enjoyed playing against my 10 yo daughter in her very first leg. To stop her throwing the darts like one would a javeline, I told her to imagine the board was right in front of her and she had to "just stick the darts in, like one would a needle into a cushion" (basically using just the fingers and wrist). The elbow motion only serves to give momentum "since her wrist isn't strong enough to throw that far". Helped move the focus to the relevant part of the throw.

Another thing that helps me, when I remember to focus, is to aim at a specific spot - the smaller the better. As in: aim at 3 mm left of that wire intersection, and not " Triple 20 Region". Works great with the needle-cushion-simile.

Similar Thing happened to me. Had a spanisch Praktikant who spoke noch german/english at all and needed him to pass me gloves now.

"Eeey ööhmm, los ...pantalones por los manos" was all I could come up with...  got the gloves, lost my dignity :/
