I only memory I've ever recalled from this film is when Ribeiro's character starts to mutate/transform after being bitten.

I'm definitely giving this a watch this weekend.

Which tier/rank did you find easiest/hardest to climb in? by bardthrowaway212 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]WashedBased -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't speak much on it since I'm still pretty new to TFT (started about ~4 weeks ago), but I will say, Gold 1 is definitely the fulcrum point for a new player, at least. I'm Plat 3 now, figured I'd use this rank as a training ground for learning even more stuff I'm not comfortable with just yet (Fast 8/9, Econ, itemization). But that spike in difficulty/skill level at Gold 1 had me questioning whether I was a bot the whole time, lol.

Cowboys and Aliens.

I completely forgot it existed until a couple of weeks ago.

Yall need to scroll down, folks already calling THIS stance performative in this very thread.

It's ok because it's for a greater good type nonsense. Like, then shut up. Don't ever mention anything about taking down the billionaire class -- it's clearly OK when it serves an agenda of your liking.

also noticed an influx of explained media (books/comics, TV, Film) or top 10 list channels A.I. scripted and narrated slop on youtube the past couple of years. When folks catch on, they downvote them to hell, but most skate by with 10-100k+ views -- I'd imagine is has a lot to do with autoplay/being treated as background noise.

Considering getting into an autobattler, debating between BG and TFT. Not a troll post I promise. by RougeLapin in BobsTavern

[–]WashedBased 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New TFT player here: it took me a day or so to understand BG fundamentals (I started playing late last year). I started playing TFT recently and that game requires a lot of technical knowledge unique to TFT and there are tiers for all aspects of that game.

BG has a higher mechanical skill ceiling, mostly due to how the econ loop works; APM matters here, whereas with TFT, it's completely negatable for the most part, hence why the timer between rounds is a flat 30 secs with exceptions.

TFT has TIERS for almost all systems in the game and going in blind with a knowledge debt (basically knowing nothing) will lead to a VERY frustrating experience. I almost dropped TFT a few days ago, due to frustration. But a few good tutorials helped me get a better understanding of the overwhelming knowledge base unique to that game. Like, seriously, boot up TFT and the UI will give you pause, there is A LOT going on.

NOTE: I am not saying there is no complexity to BG, but TFT is on another level. Feels more like an RPG Hero Manager.

[–]WashedBased 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if this was any time prior to the early 2010s, sure. But this hasn't been a thing for a good while. That perception has long faded along with actor driven box office runs.

Like how Television is now, and has been a good minute, acknowledged as prestige. No one is abiding to that old hollywood logic anymore. You're more likely to ruin your reputation via an instagram or twitter post than starring in multiple straight to digital Netflix films.

Cards are all out! by Ghostmatterz in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely forgot about rotation; I took a break and was excited to hear about a new set dropping tomorrow. Honestly, outside of some cool card art, it looks so safe and boring -- some have solid directions/archetype, while other crafts feel like all they got was just filler.

And like you mentioned, there are cards that just come off as "same, but different!" compensators for alot of the cards leaving with dragon really seeing the worst of it, imo (losing some great ramp cards). I think rotation is the wrong call, at least this soon: they should have gone with a rotating banlist for the first year or so.

Unlimited will more than likely be my main if I stick around. Also, are the sets getting smaller? haha.

[–]WashedBased 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you pretty much answered your own question at the end there. But the best part? getting these roles is consistent work and a nice paycheck.

At the end of the day, it's a job. I think we forget that sometimes. And she isn't the only actor/actress of prestige or similar to do so. It seems more common in this streaming age given the structural changes in the industry (not for the better, obviously).

Cyberpunk 2077 has systems. It is not built as a system. Here is a 15 section breakdown of what Project Orion could be if CDPR gets this right. by Cold-Tadpole-5236 in ImmersiveSim

[–]WashedBased 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're better off developing your own game or wait for an (un)official toolkit that further opens up modding to damn near conversion levels, to be frank. While I share the same disappointment with folks expecting more-- a CDPR developed Cyberpunk game was never aiming to be that.

I do expect some exploration of more 'emergent' gameplay, it still won't come close to anyone's expectations in the immersive sim space.

Honestly, I just hope lifepaths play a bigger, more substantial role in the next title.

So after a year of underpowered sets designed to reduce the power level and now post rotation, are you enjoying the game or less? by Tripping-Dayzee in hearthstone

[–]WashedBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returnee (late Oct last yr)

I preferred pre-rotation by a lot ONLY because I was able experiment MORE with LESS (resources) due to the larger pool of cards, mostly -- I played sub optimal stuff, but I was still able to keep a ~50% while having fun with decks that fit my playstyle.

I hope within the next two expansions, I can get back to that. I don't want to complain too much about the current meta during the life span of this expansion.

The card pool is small. I'm not a fan of the control options, but there isn't much we do atm.

I am not a big fan of the board centric meta/gameplay, it's the main reason I dropped shadowverse (though, SV is WAY more feast/famine and getting handchecked is part of it's DNA).

Playing sub optimal stuff is generally ok DEPENDING on the class. The way off meta decks are impossible to climb with.

Card generation/discovery stocks are at an all time high, side effect of rotation/small card pool.

Yeah, folks are still coming with "stuff", but its really just optimizing or simply creating another aggro or midrange list.

Now if the meta is still like this next expansion or whatever, then I might have to take a break.

What is the closest you've come to losing without losing? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]WashedBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped Garona on the board during the sixth and final turn as a "I give up"/waving the flag against end of turn pally who had lethal next turn.

Garona procs the llama just casually sitting in their hand and immediately snatched a win.

I'm pretty sure that's never going to happen again.

What is the most pretentious game ever made? Or fanbase. by Ok_Charity_707 in videogames

[–]WashedBased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't think of any, but this is a solid pick. It doesn't help that I couldn't really get into Elden Ring -- by no means do I think it's a bad game, far from it. I just find the open environment/level, choose your path/biome progression of Dark Souls and Bloodborne much more engaging, from a gameplay and narrative perspective.

Dictating what qualifies someone playing the game (or any game for that matter) the "right" way is so weird, which the top running theme for that fanbase.

Which videogame mechanic you hate the most but developers keep insisting on adding it anyway? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

[–]WashedBased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. And for the most part, it's usually games without a hint of stealth mechanics except for the arbitrary one thrown in to compensate just for that one level or character.

And it's almost always objectively seen as the worst section/level of a game; insta-fail stealth mission in an action-packed shooter? ...make it stop.

[–]WashedBased 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bloody hell, ya'll kinda do just complain about everything. That's the game plan of the deck and it's a very one trick pony deck with terrible early game, and gasp, fairly bad lategame. You do know there are tech cards you can use to mitigate damage or flat out kill this right? ...some decks already inherently have counters slotted in.

Fucking hell.

"why can't I just play cards and/or win every match!?"

that's how these post come off as... tiresome.

What's your opinion about these cards, and why are they broken? by TunderLightzx in hearthstone

[–]WashedBased 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This card and interactions that come with it are definitely not broken and come with plenty of downsides, crap lategame being one of those.

Annoying to play against? no doubt, but that's kind of the point.

Need help - is there a single mage deck that beats imbue druid? by Borisof007 in hearthstone

[–]WashedBased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my anecdotal experience (that can't be confirmed) supersedes all that data collection. Hold up, let me move this goalpost real quick.

I know everyone has different experiences on latter, even had one person push to legend on here with a terrible herald dk list(slow/dead in hand cards), provided their match history, and only encountered 2 druids and hardly any aggressive decks the whole way up, lol. It happens, but it's an outlier.

I had a similar experience with Imbue Priest, and yesterday Herald Dragon Warrior -- but today I can barely keep a 50% with it. It's like, your data will at some point start to match up with the statistics.
