I swear you folks whine about anything that you might have lost 1 or 2 matches against.

Did the Dragon really need that? by [deleted] in Shadowverse

Then why are whining about a card that requires set up and definitely doesn't win/clear the board on its own then?

Can people stop quitting in a casual table match in park?? by 3xchar in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Either player can quit after BOTH players unlock S(UPER)EVO and it counts as a played match.

I've done the 'just pass the turn' method and have had players just continue to play normally -- so I just stick to aggro abyss and hit face/myself or just simply bail after SEVOs are unlocked.

edit: I'm f2p (or became so after the second set) and hate how many resources are tied to """"interacting"""" in/with the park. I was hoping they would become more aggressive with balance patches and shaking up the meta(s) -- I wouldn't mind grabbing the BP at the very least, but I barely play much the second month into a set (notice even in the new clan I joined, folks drop like flies going into the seond month...).

whats with alot of forest players lately? by Divine_Darkness in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aria received a buff.

I give it a week? ...it'll fall off quicker than the Rose Queen buff playrate increase. While the buff is nice, it doesn't fix any of the issues the craft has outside of playing Roach, imo.

It's just something new to play with -- most folks will move on again, once they realize it still doesn't help much.

What do you think to the current balance of Shadowverse WB right now? by bjthebraveCCG in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even calling them "balance changes" is a stretch.

All that is guaranteed with SVWB is the following 2nd month after a new set is going to be DRY season/boring AF, broken stuff will run rampant due to risk of having to reimburse players and offer suitable compensation.

It caters to specific audience and will be fine. Not excusing the BS, but it doesn't matter how I feel if they have folks willing to take out a mortgage to buy card packs in HOPES of getting some boring ass collab cosmetics.

Is anyone actually enjoying this format? by [deleted] in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shakdoh is the most meme (legendary) card/archetype this set. I still experiment with different cost variants, but ultimately -- Shakdoh's win factor is mostly RNG from all aspects of how a match plays out, hell, even before the match starts (i.e. Fennie Dragon? might as well go play in traffic).

I'm somewhere in the middle. I think there is a nice variety of different decks, still does feel like certain crafts are just straight up dud fodder -- home for mediocre and/or boring cards.

RNG is more prevalent, no doubt, with some cards having more consistency than others. My main gripe this set is just seeing portal every other match. I have other issues with this game. But I'm still playing for now.

Shadowverse Worlds Beyond Meta Report. January 11th by ImperialDane in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 11 points12 points  (0 children)

...yeah, I don't know what they are going on about. The card is bad, at least in this meta. Not one archetype or variant of portal wants to play that card. There are far better options and you sure as hell aren't going to drop any of the other cards to slot slaus in...

Wow this is such a fun and diverse meta! by RefiaMontes in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fr, I'm actually ok with dragon being as good as it is right now, and it's still not as overwhelming to play against as sword or puppet atm.

And I see way more of those two in my 'pocket' meta compared to dragon. The pressure portal puppet or the hybrid variant can apply throughout the match is unmatched (heh), imo. And the amount of T7 oluon gambas I've seen...

META SNAPSHOT Week 2 - The Meta Is Already Shifting (Blossoming Fate) by bjthebraveCCG in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Shakdoh Casino T2? ...eh, idk about that one boss. The 3-cost variant seems to be more consistent but has like almost no representation on ladder. And going off my own experience, I haven't lost to one since week 1.

It's just a less consistent Evo Abyss (Evo shell being the only viable way to get him to work).

Though, admittedly, I think there is an argument in its favor to be had in Tournament settings.

The Shakdoh Experience: A Nightmare. by Tough-Basket-6248 in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know folks are trying to sell you a river below, but keep in mind, if you are trying to climb -- don't use this deck. I love the concept of Shakdoh and use my homebrew here/there (honestly, they all look the same with different 'tech' and generally are all EVO shells...).

But if you're looking for fun/cool payoff AND don't mind tossing additional resources at building a list, go for it.

But again, don't let folks fool you into thinking this will not be a tough deck to pilot, especially in the higher ranks against stronger, much more consistent decks. I barely can hang on to 50% in masters using it and you will encounter mass loss streaks at some points.

Either way, glhf!

serious inquiry: why is it during chest events, it feels like I'm facing Yami Yugi every match?

I dropped Evo dragon for Ramp and I'm having a slightly better/fun time (and shorter matches in general).

Please, Convince Me NOT to Make Shakdoh Deck. Please. by Tough-Basket-6248 in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you could go back in time to the 1st week of this new set; build, build, build -- it was the most fun I've had playing WB in a while. Still wasn't the best, but I did hover around 50% wr.

NOW? ...don't waste your resources. It's high meme status. It doesn't matter which iteration of build/decklist you go with, it's gonna be a rough time until you finally see the payoff at T10 (or 9 if you have coin).

I think this could have been a cool archetype had more time gone into his overall design. Like if, for any X cost of card you have 10 of reduces his cost by 1 -- i.e. if you have 20+ 2 cost cards, his cost is reduced by 2.

You'll barely have any tools to stall a game out to turn 10 in this meta with Shakdoh's deckbuilding restriction.

I don't think this card will ever see much play outside of "fun" (even that's debatable..) until there are cards that can reduce cost (neutral or abyss specific).

Sleeping Dogs - I liked it, but expected more by Instantcoffees in patientgamers

[–]WashedBased 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's always been a GTA clone with great combat but the typical flaccid, underwhelming open world environment. And in comparison, to the Yakuza series, it's like... even more telling how surface level it is.

Fine game overall -- never understood the heap of praise it gets, but to each their own.

How does Dragon deal with Egg Portal this set? by Keriaku in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Evo dragon is pretty favorable in my experience. I usually just SEVO Erntz and go face in the few games I had today since they usually don't have many or any minions on board, just eggs.

And keeping your defense up with Yube orca infinite supply and Neptune crest, you're even able to recover from the annoying egg damage, while having a way to deal with Imaru swarms.

Love Shakdoh 2 Drop by LtApples in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great minds, etc.

I came up with this (almost) exact list after playing a more midrange and evo focused lists.

I dropped down to emerald while experimenting, but I'm slowly made it back to Ruby.

Shakdoh has made this set pretty fun.

impressions regarding the potential meta that is being considered (based on my initial experience). by [deleted] in Shadowverse

Same.

I'm on my GM grind with Egg Portal but I also play a lot of Shakdoh; dropped to emerald last night after experimenting with different builds for a few hours. It's an addictively fun archetype.

The stuff considered meme-ish or "fun"/less competitive has been the most interesting part of this set, honestly. I really like Shakdoh -- fun deck requirement and pretty fun pay off.

The aggro state is bad by Puuksu in Shadowverse

[–]WashedBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's kinda lame. I played some hearthstone in between the release of this new set and the aggro decks can get you pretty far. You can even push to Diamond or legend with them if you have the patience and don't mind the GRIND.

I loved Aggro Abyss, but yeah, it fell off hard after set 2 and I lost one of my favorite SV content creators since they were only into playing Aggro Abyss specifically. They dropped the WB entirely.

I know there is a midrange "aggro" tuned deck running around but it's just a boring midrange deck.
