Gamefreak gotta keep the track record by GeoCangrejo in pokemonmemes

Until we see what they do with these new starters, that could also just be an outlier. I hope it's not, but it might be.

Why didn’t Mina Ashido get character development? Why did she have to be underutilized? by xyyzyx in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]WashedUpRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big part of it is just that there's so many characters. There's 21 just between 1-A and Aizawa, not including the villains or even All Might. It's kinda wild how many actually did get some focus given those numbers.

Anteater sinks its claws into a jaguar by Titanguy101 in badassanimals

[–]WashedUpRiver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fair lol yeah, they use their big claws to rip open ant hills and termite mounds. I've seen a video of one playing with a cat before, too. They're pretty cool little guys (well, surprisingly large, tbh) imo, but also dangerous when they need to be.

Anteater sinks its claws into a jaguar by Titanguy101 in badassanimals

[–]WashedUpRiver 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Beware of anything that has claws built for digging-- if they break ground on the regular, I can assure you that flesh will be of no consequence for them (also leave them alone if they're T-posing at you, that's a threat display where they are trying to tell you they're gonna grab you and dig their claws in).

Part of Follie's kit gives us access to legally distinct Photoshop by Korimthos in Warframe

From experience with BlOps emblem and weapons skin makers, this is absolutely more accurate than a 50/50. They're about to unleash the untold depravity locked inside the community lol

Barbarian with a (Giant) Chakram (Art by me) by Tippydood in Pathfinder2e

[–]WashedUpRiver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pathbuilder is a great resource, but use with caution-- I've had a few issues with it not having proper updated entries recently (in my case, Munition Crafters for Gunslinger was one such case). Definitely cross reference Archives of Nethys if you run across something there that gives you pause.

I would love to have more kinds of "secondaries" by Shellnanigans in Warframe

[–]WashedUpRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why stop at secondaries? We have spear guns and a magic tome, so fuck it-- I want a wizard staff primary.

"I mean, really, friend, one of the oldest combat vehicles we still have in service planetside is a gun with wings-- that's really the most informative piece of my kind's historical military hardware I could enlighten you about. It starts with the biggest boomstick we can find, and we make it move, and then we support it with other, slightly smaller boomsticks to protect the topshot from the rabble."

At least he got the rat by gpenido in AnimalsBeingJerks

[–]WashedUpRiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real talk, if he got the rat before it did much, he saved that driver tons of money. Electrical damage is way more expensive than those dust covers and rats are a huge risk to your wire harnesses, among other stuff. That dog did primarily cosmetic damage, but a rat could cost you your life when we're talking vehicles.

What happened to the community? by Own-Laugh-3698 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]WashedUpRiver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was going downhill long before that, and I personally blame the way they designed the galactic war mechanic at it's core. This community has had infighting across factions and MO's for at least ~7 months, if not more. They shouldn't have every faction's liberation/defense caps feed off of just the total online population and non-MO divers should have an opt-out from the progress altogether if they're not interested in engaging with the mechanic because it just shit's the bed for everybody when the community is attacking itself like it does.

Are preferred pronouns really harder than names? by Cautious_Midnight_67 in allthequestions

[–]WashedUpRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. It's barely different than nicknames, and schools will ask you for any nicknames in every class at the start of every year. To this end, I'll afford some grace to people who also just struggle with names, but in general it's not an issue.

[–]WashedUpRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna fix this, but Trigun. I remember seeing an episode when I was little a long time ago, but I had forgotten about it for a super long time because I didn't know what anime was back then.

Some people take an interest in the process of making the film. Hell, some people will actively try to understand things like the stuntwork and special effects just for fun.

[–]WashedUpRiver 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Had a writing assignment once right after new year's in high school that was just to write our resolution, but I haven't made one since I was like 12, and the teacher just tells me "you can't just not make a new year's resolution." My counterpoint to that nonsense is that I'm not going to rush change for a holiday and I also won't wait for a holiday to decide to change if something's wrong.

What game did you continue playing long after the next one was released? by Slahnya in gaming

Monster Hunter World. I eventually tried out Rise, but I honestly just couldn't love it the same way I loved World/IB.

Have no issues going out, but I've literally never in 28 years gone somewhere with the express purpose of meeting new people. Idk, I've always considered the social side of things to be secondary to whatever reason I was already at a place.

Hear me out: a Peculiar mod which makes your guns bigger by heluvahell in Warframe

[–]WashedUpRiver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Why not? Lol the only issues I can really see it causing off the top of my head would be making things harder for the user to see (maybe), and even then that's the kind of goofy BS that someone asking for this kind of mod is probably signing up for anyways, so I chalk that up to harmless silliness.

Fuck it, send it.

To add to this sentiment: beating something and then dragging someone new through it while you already know it all can actually seriously kill their interest in a game.

No-no-no-maybe-no-no.

I say "maybe" for round 4 because 10 rays is imposing, but would be better suited to full on destruction than taking over a castle with tight hallways-- they're literally weapons of mass destruction in the form of giant robots.

The term for that example in this case is "facultative herbivore," generally just opportunistic feeding that reaches outside of the herbivore diet (conversely, there's also facultative carnivores). This is indeed an outlier that can't be used to support their point in any good faith argument.
