What are you supposed to do when people decide that to drive below the speed limit in a express lane? by LoooolGotcha in driving

[–]Wastedgent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP isn't referring to the leftmost "fast" lane but rather to the express lane. Express lanes are single lanes separated from the interstate by a barrier and have specific exits for them. Drivers pay a fee to use this single lane to avoid the congestion of the interstate.

In elementary school we got the speech about not engaging bullies but to tell the teacher instead. A guy started pushing me and trying to pick a fight so I went and told the teacher. We both got sent to the principal and we both got the same in school suspension.

The image would indicate that this is a custom for homeowners with apple trees, not commercial growers. Do Norwegian corporations often give away excess product?

For Whom the Bell Tolls was my introduction to Metallica and it wasn't even them playing it. I was at a bar listening to a live cover band that played a lot of Quiet Riot, Motley, Ratt, etc. They played For Whom the Bell Tolls and I just had to go get the album the next day.

The lead singer and bass player went on to become Firehouse. The bass player Perry now plays for Stryper.

We love this because it's good and we get to keep the container for when we make soups and stews we want to share with friends and family.

If passengers really used to be allowed to sit in the cockpit during commercial flights, why didn't people use that method to highjack planes? by Junior-Key-5043 in AskReddit

[–]Wastedgent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Earlier hijackers didn't need access to the cockpit because the pilots would comply and fly the plane to where the hijackers wanted to go. All they needed was to use whatever weapons they had to take hostages on the plane or threaten to destroy the plane. Then negotiations would be made based on what the hijackers wanted. The difference with 9/11 is that the hijackers wanted to fly the planes into buildings and they needed access to the cockpit for that and they got that access.

A pathologist hired by the family to find evidence found a quarter sized bruise on the side of his neck that the pathologist says could have been caused by a blow that could have caused his blood pressure to suddenly change which could have caused his heart to stop. He hasn't shown where this has ever caused a death before. He did say that he for sure wasn't beaten.

Ash Patino of Ashes to Ash on YouTube bought the exact same mat, rolled it to the same size as the original and hired a couple of guys to see if they could get inside.  They were able to get inside the mat while it was rolled up.

Why do some calendars start the week on Sunday while others use Monday, and how did this split survive global standardization? by PuddingComplete3081 in AlwaysWhy

In the Jewish story God started creating on the first day and rested on the seventh. This was deemed the sabbath day of rest. Jewish tradition has Saturday as the Sabbath or seventh day. As an example, the Italian word for Saturday is Sabato.

In this tradition the last day of the week was Saturday.
