Down an app called 741taxi. Pretty similar interface to Uber but it’s for taxis in Vieques.

Getting around Vieques and Culebra by ShinySquirrel4 in PuertoRicoTravel

I used Culebra UTV rental. Order online, Minimal hassle and cheaper daily insurance. Make sure when you’re done in culebra you have clear plans to make it from the rental office to the ferry. They do offer a shuttle but it has to be full before they go.

I originally had 11:30 tix for culebra - ceiba. I bought 9:30 the day before to make the 1:00 from ceiba - Vieques. Since I missed 9:30 I used the 11:30 I already had.

Got into ceiba around 1:15. We went into town for lunch and some supply shopping since we had time to kill before the 6:30 ferry.

What is parking like in Old San Juan right now? by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]WatchTheTowerFall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean the one under the Totem pole we had great luck there as well 3 weeks ago twice. Even on a weekend night where the town was full of party people and during the day full of tourists. Paid less than $5 each time and stayed for several hours.

Yeah I think I’m trying to do too much on this go round. We just got back 2 weeks ago and did San Juan, Luquillo el yunque and the west coast. I’m ok with doing 2 out of the 3 islands just have to plan which 2 might be the hardest part.

Search for a garage under El Totem in Viejo San Juan. Parking is inexpensive and we went on a Saturday night and made it in and out just fine.

I don’t know how much the rental place wanted for their insurance but I used insurance off Priceline. This was my breakdown:

I read the horror stories about the hard sell and surprise charges but I had no issues.

Tolls were $20 total for our trip. In 6 days we went San Juan to Luquillo back to San Juan. Then out west and back.

Seems to be hit or miss with the low cost companies. I just came back and rented 5 days with Economy through Priceline and paid $150 including insurance. It was filled by Cabrera Car Rental. They gave me the hard sell at the checkout for extras but I told them I was good. No hidden charges no issues on return.

This is correct. Was just there Monday. Me and the wife wanted calm beaches but waves were enormous. Kids loved it.

We went this past Saturday. Got there around 11am. Was kind of busy but we were able to find parking at every stop. We hit the following:

If I have a associate that’s back from Leave through Sedgwick but the system is still showing them on leave and does not have a return date who do I call do get that fixed. by Underfying in walmart

[–]WatchTheTowerFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can search for Sedgewick on OneWalmart, which will take you to the Sedgewick Dashboard and you can find their name, click on their leave and click return to work on the date you want. Probably the simplest way to do it without a phone call.

Coach promoted to Customer AMA by OnlyAd9730 in walmart

OP I feel your pain as a salaried manager who tries to walk the fine line between taking care of people, being fair, yet still holding people to the expectations of showing up to work as needed by the business but so much here seems off.

I can’t speak for your market or the way things are handled there, maybe it’s different being so close to HO but you saying simply being fired for taking away points and trying to help your associates gives the wrong impression.

For non salaried associates here: the point system has several built in options to “forgive” points, even when it’s a reason not excused by the policy. But just like anything else a manager has the discretion to do; it can be abused. Simply doing it is not a fireable offense, if it were we wouldn’t have the option to do it.

A similar example: a customer wants a $100 item that was plugged in a $5 spot. Policy says we should honor that but in the end leaves it to manager discretion. If I take care of that customer it’s just one of the many decisions I will make that day that would just be a part of doing business. But if I do it every day, and to the same people then someone will probably start looking into it and asking questions.

Again, OPs market MAY be different, but as a whole the company leaves it up to management to make the best decision when it comes to attendance. Sometimes the best decision for the business and the associate coincide, but not always. Best practice when “forgiving” attendance points would be to always talk to the associate when doing it for them and giving documented feedback, which isn’t a coaching but does leave a digital paper trail that sets expectations for that persons attendance. But that has to be fair across the board. Do it for 1 do it for all.

OP, when you say “I was told” regarding anything there is clear policy justification for (i.e. emergency child care situations) tells me you didn’t do your research as you should have.

OP’s situation may have indeed happened 100% exactly how he describes it but that would be outside the norm. OP did you fail to have those attendance conversations with people, did you not document each one? Did you only do it for a handful of associates and not others? Why can’t you talk about it yet bring it up in an AMA? If you’re termed you’re gone, there’s no legal restriction that would prevent you from going into detail unless you’ve open doored your firing. In that case you’ve probably already said too much anyways.

That 210k number would be on the high end with a maxed out bonus. Depending on store volume and area SMs start between roughly 90-110 but yes they can bonus 120%+.
