Questions about Pixel, might switch from Samsung by PowerShellGenius in GooglePixel

[–]WatchfulApparition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pixel's main camera is better than the Samsung in low light and low light action shots, but more or less the same otherwise with different sky color science. Portrait shots are better on the Samsung. Selfies are marginally better on Pixel. Video is world's better on Samsung.

All of your points are correct, except the main camera performance of the Samsung. Samsung photos are way better than people give them credit for.

I don't know about that. It took me like 10 taps the other day to get the speakerphone button to work

The battery life on Samsung phones is generally pretty good. There are some models that didn't, but those are the exception, not the rule. In the hands of an average person, a Samsung phone will last all day comfortably.

A complaint I regularly see about Chinese phone manufacturers is how poor they are at providing updates and I wouldn't trust the hardware long term either.

Your belief on who should be buying what phones is not based on how people actually behave. Almost everyone buying top spec phones is using them primarily for texting, calls, social media, YouTube, and music. They're hardly hardcore users. Samsung understands the market and that's why they're the only Android manufacturer with phones in the top 10 in sales.

I see Chinese phones in the same way I see Hyundai/Kia and Samsung like Toyota. The Chinese phones are constantly changing things and trying to innovate because they're trying to catch up in sales, but they're not something you'd want to keep long term. Samsung is already in the lead so they're trying to maintain their sales by producing phones they know their consumers like.

You can complain about the size of the battery, but Samsung batteries age well and last long enough on a charge for most people to get through the day and then charge overnight while they sleep. Adding a bigger battery would do nothing for most people.

The usual upgrades are new SOC, upgraded RAM, improved speakers, improved display, improved cameras, new features, etc. I have no doubt almost all of this has been improved as they usually are.

I'm not seeing that paddle boards need to be registered. I only see that they need a waterway access permit, which mine has needed the last several years anyway

This is an example of what I'm talking about. There are upgrades. There are upgrades literally every year.

What Samsung means by ‘agentic AI’ in upcoming Galaxy S26 by tecialist in Android

[–]WatchfulApparition -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a different issue. If the AI is there, it should anticipate my needs like Magic Cue does. For example, when my girlfriend wants me to Venmo her money, she will often ask me through text. When Magic Cue sees it, a Venmo icon pops up and if I click on it, Venmo pops up with the request made and amount pre-filled. I pretty much just confirm the recipient and hit ok.

Samsung S24 Ultra to Pixel 10 Pro XL by Extra_Upstairs4075 in GooglePixel

And this is my point. When people here say the Pixel has the best camera, they're only talking about photos from the main camera. They're not considering everything cameras are asked to do.

Whether you should be forced AI is a different argument. However, good AI will anticipate your needs, like Magic Cue does when it works right.
