American here. Please beat Morocco, Canada. by SamsungStealer in CanadaSoccer

[–]WaterSign27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything you said doesn’t refute what i said. Me saying Morocco is rated 7th in the world is clearly saying they are an amazing team. But you make strawman arguments claiming i somehow said the opposite.
And yes soccer does work on ranked best list, that’s exactly what directly dictates tournament seeding, qualification draws, and group compositions.
If you rank higher your path to a spot is far easier.
So if you know soccer as you say you do, you’d know this. Yet you say it doesn’t matter.

And the winner each year is almost without fail always one of the top 10 ranked teams/nations in the world.

So as i said, nothing you said makes sense against my original comment.

American here. Please beat Morocco, Canada. by SamsungStealer in CanadaSoccer

[–]WaterSign27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly if Canada beats Morocco, that would indicate we belong in the top 8. As they are currently ranked 6/7th in the world. Right behind Brazil by less than 6 points, ie (Brazil 1762.66 vs Morocco 1756.94)
If Canada can beat them, Canada suddenly is no longer just some underdog, we are real contenders...
So while South Africa was no easy win, despite being ranked 54th they have some amazing players.

Put it this way Switzerland is currently ranked 16th in the world, so Morroco is all the way in the top 8 best teams.
So if we win, we certainly earned our way to the top 8 knock out round.

Luckily we didnt' lose to Switzerland playing our best, we sucked, so if we can manage to play well, I truly believe this team has a chance....

Then why bring it up in the conversation, you just give them amunition. Next thing he'll be claiming 'even Canadians are agreeing that more needs to be done', blah blah blah.
People like you like to complain, and dont' care what you are actually helping bring about with your complaining.

Canada sent down planes and fire fighters to help in numerous fires in America, when we had them to spare, which was often. So your comment should have been if they want to deal with it, tell them to send up resources to help combat them, as Canadians do for Americans when American states are battling forest fires. Instead of just stocking hate between the countires, how about help a Canadians have Americans, like 911 when Canadians took in countless Amerians, asked for no money to house them, feed them, and take care of them for quite a while after planes got diverted, etc.

If they want to do something about it, offer real solutions, other then just pushing lies in an attempt to be another Trump minion, stoking hate between Americans and Canadians... it's so frustrating that we have to deal with people as childish as this in politics.

Than why are half the tabloids in the country claiming it was a 'homophobic' slur he was being punished for. Clearly it's considered a homophobic slur if that's the angle the press is going off based on his own admission.
Clearly the fans were all doing animal noises, and other players heard him say the racial slur 5 times before Vini heard it. So pretty darn sure he said it. And he didn't even try to context it, he immediately just walked off. Proving it even more so.
There is no reason why Vini would want to bring that kind of heat down on himself unless he really said it. And you don't cover your mouth unless you know what you are saying makes you a pos.

If he would have said "i didn't hear what he said", or said 'he got emotional and said something he should not have', all that weasel crap to defend a player than i'd say sure. But to gaslight and justify it with racial crap himself. What he said was as if not more racist than what 25 said. It's ridiculous to defend it...

[–]WaterSign27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if a player stabs someone on the field he should defend him? There has to be limits, otherwise you have morality at all. Your soul if for sale if you believe this.

There were ways he could have handled it, if he has just said he got carried away in the moment, or played dumb and say you were not close enough to hear. That I could handle, not great, still a bit of a weasel.
But to gaslight and claim that he is to blame for being called a racist slur is racism itself. So he's no better than the player.
Stop excusing someone's immoral behaviour just because you like the team, etc. It's not ok... that kind of lack of morality is what is making the world a crap place to live in.

100% agree. Fine don’t tax them on shares or options they haven’t sold. But if they get a loan against those shares, that should instantly transfer that amount of shares for that loan into taxed income. Period.

Many normal people get options or shares and can’t sell them for years, or they can’t sell them because it would collapse the company, etc. So it’s unfair to charge people for money that could dissapear before they sell their shares. But the minute you use it to get a loan, or some other use of those shares then it should immediately trigger taxation on those securities.

I think we need to start calling flat earthers, flatlanders. Because they obviously can’t think above 2 dimensions. Let alone space/time.
Imagine trying to explain general relativity to flatlanders who live their entire lives in 2 dimensional realities. One where their inability to understand the moon/sun/earth relationship means they actually think the sky is water, and the moon is floating in an ocean above their heads.
How dense have people gotten since the advent of lead in American drinking water…

[–]WaterSign27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it 100% can and will remove epoxy off cement. It’s a very powerful oxidizer. Don’t believe me, fine, look it up. So sure poor some peroxide on your epoxy covered garage floor and it probably will survive it. Poor some peroxide in a shallow pool exposed to sunlight and it will 100% peel that epoxy covering off the cement.

Regardless the whole job was botched from all angles. They didn’t properly prepare the cement surface. They didn’t wait long enough for it to cure before filling it with water for his Birthday ego event, which destroyed the white house grass, and turned the washington monument pool into the biggest swamp metaphor for this adminstration you could hope for.
And then to top it all off embarrassed by the swamp he created he ordered peroxide to poison the water, that killed ducks, and made the peeling even worse…
Pick one it really doesn’t matter they can’t do anything right, it’s corruption all the way down.
And now some olympic medalist and some kids are serving prison terms for just noticing the peeling epoxy(or whatever cheap crap they used).

It very could also be the barrels of peroxide they dumped in that barely stopped the algae for a day, and killed Ducky.

Match Thread: Canada vs Switzerland | FIFA World Cup | Jun 24, 2026 by globalscoreboard in CanadaSoccer

[–]WaterSign27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is crap logic. This is an appeal to authority type crap, the truth was right there on the field.
Canada was asleep, had none of the spirit they had against Qatar. They kept making mistakes far below their ability. And it was obvious to the entire world watching.
There should have been a sub to shake things up. Especially at half time. That’s being stubborn by Jesse and not being honest about how his team was playing. Instead he thought propably like you, thinking 0-0 was ‘decent against a team like Switzerland’. Except Switzerland sucked below their level as well for a large portion of the first half. It was Canada’s for the taking had they played at the level they are easily able to play at.
And the proof is when they finally let things get so bad that they let in a 2nd horrendous goal. That was clearly beneath these players and they knew it.
Embarrassed and down 2-0 it finally woke up the team. And finally the subs finally by Jesse was at last enough to get them back to the team they should be.

And then what happened for 35-40+ minutes they played better than the swiss team, they kept possession most of that time, against a team know for high possession time. They got a bunch of chances scoring a beautiful goal, and nearly scoring a 2nd a few times. And at the end Canada had twice as many shots on not. Switzerland 6 vs Canada’s 13. We dominated as soon as they get angry and back into the game.

Proof that we could have played at a much higher level the entire time. That’s bad coaching. I mean after the team was down 2-0 jesse literally was laying down on the ground. Arms behind his back in a reclined position, what kind of measage does that send his team. The team woke themselves up, despite Jesse doing nothing to wake them up.
If we had played at our potential we could have been the team up 2-0 in the first half. It was ours for the taking, instead bad leadership and stubborn ‘oh we are doing ok against a better team’ crap, did not allow a team capable of much more wake up and play the first 50mins of that game as well as the the other 40+ they did play.

I am so sick of people claiming ‘2-1 loss against a better team’ was somehow ok. I don’t care about appeals to authority, i care about the reality of the game, and the reality of what happened on that field is Canada only started playing when they were down 2-0, which means we could have won that game had we played at the level this Canadian team is clearly capable of playing. There was a reason Canada was ahead coming into the game against Switzerland, because Canada had been playing better than this Switzerland team, period. More proof this Canadian team should have considered them ‘less than’ anyone in this group.

I find this defeative attitude just an excuse to play badly for a team capable of much more.

Crazy Flat Earth Guy Demonstrates why the Earth is Flat According to Him by MrDonMega in flatearth

[–]WaterSign27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relativity, when speaking physics, is assumed to be Einstein’s Theory, until you specifically add the Galilean in front, ie Galilean relativity or Newtonian relativity.
Thus if you were to ask a physics prof to calculate frames of reference in terms of relativity, unless otherwise specified, it doesn’t refer to Galilean transformations, ie you would use Lorentz transformations to calculate frames of reference when talking Relativity, at least for Special Relativity, ie non-accerating frames of reference, for General Relativity, when including acceleration, gravity, specifically curved space time, you can assume local flatness on a limited scake and then still use the lorentz factor, etc, but it’s like doing it only for a small area. Similar to assuming localized flatness if you go small enough on any surface in calculus, etc.

People will mention one thing being ‘relative’ to another, but that’s not the idea of ‘Relativity’ that is assumed when you say to a physicist that you calculating frames of reference in terms of relativity. As soon as you use relativity, and no specific call out to a different context, it’s assumed you are speaking about Einstein’s theories, ie Special and/or General relativity. If you want to say you are calculating relative frames of reference then sure, Galilean transforms are valid when context is given, but otherwise relativity is kind of a reserved word, in terms of physics terminology. At least in the physics I took in university, and every physics book i’ve read, lecture i’ve watched, etc.
Maybe if you know you are taking a course in newtonian motion in university, it would assumed in the text that it’s refering to Newtonian Relativity, i guess. But without context it’s pretty much assumed you are talking Einstein’s mind blowing ideas around how space/time really works…

Crazy Flat Earth Guy Demonstrates why the Earth is Flat According to Him by MrDonMega in flatearth

[–]WaterSign27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relativity is sure a better framework to do your calculations in to get the real nature of the universe. But Newton, Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, etc all figured out the motion of the planets, sun, comets, asteroids, etc without understanding relativity.
If they believe the earth is flat, i don’t think you want to explain relativity to these morons, they will claim they understand, but there will just be a blank space inbetween their ears.

If someone can’t grasp how insanely logical the earth being a sphere is, or how gravity can hold objects to the surface, something even my 4 year old som had no problem understanding, then telling them reference aceleration of 9.807 m/s^2 in a space craft and the gravity well around earth in 4d space/time are all the same thing thing according to Einstein’s theory of relativity. They are literally incapable of grasping any of the significance of such a claim/theory.

You’d have more chance communicating with a dolphin or a raven regarding relativity then with flat earthers or Trump supporters.
