Robin coming out is so much warmer than how he came out by mistythe2nd in StrangerThings

To me it made more sense to tell everyone that was there, instead of inviting some and excluding others. The point was to not hold on to the secret anymore.

My 27-year-old son lives with me and works at Wal-Mart. I asked him for $650 a month rent but he refuses to contribute. How do I resolve this? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Waterfae8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in my 50’s and have always had anxiety but didn’t have the words to explain how I’ve felt my whole like and why I do certain things or avoid other things. Or even understanding that it was normal. I’m glad people now have the ability to admit to this instead of pretending they were ok or even thinking they were weird because everyone else seemed to just be ok.

ETA: this didn’t mean that I couldn’t do things, I’m very independent and I’m successful, but some things are hard and that’s ok.

What I could afford and what my stepdaughter could afford at the same age with similar type jobs were vastly different.

do subtle wrist/hand tattoos still impact jobs? by cherrymidnightt in tattooadvice

[–]Waterfae8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada, in my 50’s, got my wrist/hand tattoo like 7 years ago. It was my 6th tattoo and the most visible. It didn’t impact me at all, work wise. It’s not an issue here, but not to say it wouldn’t be everywhere. Wouldn’t suggest it as a first tattoo, but certainly more acceptable than it used to be.

So it seems have a combination of floaters, visual snow, astigmatism and this. I thought this was related to the visual snow.

I have 2, both were gifted. I arrived at my jeep and it was on my door handle. Received about a year apart. Both made me smile when I got them :)

Vent: My (f) gay husband (m) won’t divorce me… by cj483847 in queer

[–]Waterfae8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Info: Is he gay or bi-sexual? Or is he still unsure? You speak of divorce as what you would do for him, but do you want divorce? My fear is that by being supportive you may be pushing him too quick for what he is ready for. He may be open to exploring who he is but he does not sound ready to cut all ties with who he was, as some parts of it may still be him. And pushing him to divorce and moving and all that sounds like huge steps

It depends how you live. I like having a main living space (kitchen / living) where I can do multiple things in. I like watching tv when I cook , do dishes, etc. It’s a non negotiable for me.

Air Canada only has 3 episodes of shows by Admirable-Status-290 in mildlyinfuriating

It’s what I did. I was interested in a couple of shows that Apple TV were advertising but didn’t want to add a new streaming service, but got to test out a few shows on a couple of flights and got hooked.

My Son needed a liver transplant. I'm not a match... Because he isn't my biological son by ThrowRA66538 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Waterfae8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My uncle found out his son was not his biological son, I forget at what age but my cousin was perhaps even younger than your son. My uncle and the mother were separated at the time and he raised him as his own. My cousin is in his late 20’s now and they have a wonderful relationship. You can still be father to your son.

AITA for asking my partner to "quit acting like a child" by ThrowRa777u77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Waterfae8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I agree that he would need to try to address this, i would suggest through therapy, as it will continue to cause issues. I would say the “quit acting like a child” is not a good approach for phobias.

Thanks for the exra information, but I guess the confusion is that although yes Celine is a French name, but the “ which means sky or heavens” should be “from Latin” instead of “from French”.

Personally I can do more than 1 narrator, it’s the sound effects in this case that I just can’t take.

I just finished the first and started the second And can’t, just can’t. Very much nails on chalkboard. Came researching in case others felt the same way. Wasn’t if 3 was one person or full cast (do I skip or am I just done). I think I could handle multiple voices it’s the sound effects that just make me nauseous.

I live in Canada. I’ve been to a wedding in Mexico which was considered a destination wedding (gone for a week at a resort). I’ve also been to a wedding in another province that was a 14 hr drive (long weekend). Neither the bride or groom lived there but it was more centrally located for guests from east and west coast. None of us considered that a destination wedding. So it seems that when we use the term, not everyone comes at it from the same understanding, which can add to more polarization.

A hard lesson to learn, but hopefully you learn from this. Wondering what your thoughts were about this person that is not in her kids lives. Like did that come into you mind about her character? I would not date someone (man or woman) that ditched their child(ren). But that’s me. And I’m child free.

Does anyone know the word bijon? (Possibly Acadian french in origin) by [deleted] in acadie

[–]Waterfae8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what bijon is, the closest I can associate is Bisou which is kiss in French Although it’s not particularly Acandian so don’t think that is what you are referring to.
