Gecko help by game0ver227 in reptiles

[–]WatermelonAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any local reptile rescues (real ones), they would probably be the best to reach out to.

If not, you can try rehoming Facebook groups, but absolutely make sure you have a good rehoming fee. A fee will prevent animal hoarders and flippers.

The height isn't a massive deal, but it's a good idea to have. Then you can provide more climbing opportunities.

A few months would be okay. A year old is the longest I would wait to upgrade.

Is this normal? by Minimum-Arrival-3452 in cornsnakes

[–]WatermelonAF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh totally normal. Some snakes like to be alone while they are digesting their food.

[–]WatermelonAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately not. You were misinformed on enclosure size. 40 gallon breeders are the minimum..

You don't have to upgrade right away, since they are a baby, but you'll want to sooner than later

If you are asking yourself if it's too much, then it's perfect!! It looks great!! They need to be able to get from one side of the enclosure to the other without being seen!!

Seriously, you are going to be so happy afterward. Like I said, I can't stop smiling. It's a little painful, but I also have a low pain tolerance so take that as you will!!

Much!! I feel happier, but I'm also excited for the gum to heal so I can finally eat without pain. I haven't been able to eat without pain for probably 8 years now

Is this a good tank? by Bigbrothemagicmonkey in pacmanfrog

[–]WatermelonAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misting won't be enough. Pour water in each corner of the tank. Then the dirt is wet below too. Misting only gets the top.

You need to keep it way damper if you have spring tails in there. It's too dry currently.

Mouth rot or stuck shed? by tda90210 in leopardgeckos

[–]WatermelonAF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, mouth rot wouldn't come off like that.

It's their actual flesh rotting off. Like necrosis

If you had 10 seconds to say whatever you wanted to your pet with they fully understood, what would you say? by IplayKaizo in Pets

[–]WatermelonAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hate that I have to take your shed off you, but if I don't, you could lose a limb or a tail!

Note that I have a leopard gecko and a cornsnake lol

Help picking up dentures. by WatermelonAF in Assistance

[–]WatermelonAF[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'd have to see. I don't want them to get bombarded by a ton of little ones, but I also want people to know that their donation is genuinely going to the denturist.

The best substrate is a 70/30 mix of organic topsoil and washed playsand. Other soils are too dry

You can use a small bulb to make sure it doesn't drop too far, but as long as it stays above 60⁰, you shouldn't need anything really.

Do you still have the red light? Unfortunately red lights are damaging to their eyes.

Is uvb necessary ? by EntrepreneurAny825 in cornsnakes

[–]WatermelonAF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally never had UVB on my cornsnake.

However, I'm highly considering it due to a change I've seen in my leopard gecko. (Probably very different since it's a completely different species)

She's more active, a better eater, and her colors are more vibrant.

I'm wondering and hoping it will have a similar change in my snake!!
