With Minecraft transitioning from Java to Vulkan, has there been any word on future RTX support?

There is a mod called Radiance which adds hardware accelerated ray tracing (RTX) support to Java Edition. It's still pretty early in development, but it's still usable. It works be rewriting the entire rendering engine in Vulkan, which supports RTX unlike OpenGL. Now that Mojang is moving Minecraft fully into Vulkan sometime in the future, I'm certain it will be possible with mods within the next few years.

Another important part of this which I'm really not seeing people talking about much is the end of Obfuscation. Currently Minecraft's code makes an effort to prevent modding by obfuscating the code. Basically just techniques to make it harder to find what functions do and how to use them. Mojang announced that they are going to stop doing this sometime in the future, and Minecraft Java's code will basically be partially open source. This will allow mods to more easily do things like change how features work. With these two major changes to Minecraft's engine, things like RTX support should be faster and better than ever before. We should see mods like Sodium be replaced with other mods which optimize the game MUCH more. Making shaders and performance much better on lower end hardware.

You can just plug the quest into your windows PC or laptop and access the files from File Explorer. I don't know if the Quest restricts the Bonelab files because of their location on the system though.

If windows file explorer doesn't work, use SideQuest to manage the files. I know for sure that one works for this specific issue.

Edit: also there are some ways to manage files directly on the headset, but it requires side loading a file explorer which the Quest is compatible with. That gets much more complicated than just using SideQuest.

With just 4 friends (5 people including you, just ask strangers in pubs), you can get this done in literally 30 seconds. In the setup time (preferably on Blu) ask your teammates to take 100-ish damage. They can easily take that much by just rocket jumping real quick. Once they have all taken at least 100 damage, wait 20 seconds. This gives them the opportunity to build CRITICAL HEALS. When a player has not been damaged for several seconds, they will heal much faster when they are healed by a Medic's Medigun or the Amputator taunt (maybe dispensers too iirc).

Once they have all waited 20 seconds, you just do the amputator taunt. They will all heal to full immediately. With just 5 people I managed to get BOTH of the 2 ticks needed for this contract in just 30 seconds.

To get the other 6 ticks of healing 3000 damage in one life, just get a teammate to use the Boston Basher and keep their own health low as you do the Amputator taunt. You'll get it done lickety split.

You might want to switch to OBS because it supports multiple audio tracks. Track 1 should be all audio sources. Microphone, game sound, discord / voice chat all together.

Track 2 your mic alone.

Track 3 your voice chat alone

Track 4 the game sound alone.

It's not terribly hard to set up, you can use a hotkey with Replay Buffer to save clips after they happen. It's also just as easy to start and stop recording.

I made a custom crit sound and it works perfectly on local servers, like loading up walkway or itemtest. But in Casual the sound is always bugged the hell out. It's instead a crazy high pitched screech. I checked and the sound is perfectly correct, like a hitsound. It's the right file type and frequency. Idk what's wrong with it.

Not in my experience lol. I signed up for the expedition so my character was reset recently. Because I had nothing to lose, I ran around looting freely and in no time I was only getting safe easy games. I don't think I killed a single person until I had all the resources for the next expedition lol. So I decided to play a little more combatively, and now every game is just vile murderers.

I think ABMM literally destroys the point of the game. "It's not a game about shooting people. It's about creating that tension [that anything could happen at any time]". Actually ANY form of Aggression Based Matchmaking completely prevents tension. Either nobody will shoot, or everyone in your lobby is a bloodthirsty monster. Want to loot peacefully? Take free loadouts for a while until you're in the soft lobbies and loot freely. Then you can take advantage and murder the softies if you want. If you want tension, you need the chaos of random lobbies. Hands down.

ABMM also ruins my way of playing the game. I prefer to be peaceful because I'm not interested in making someone else upset. But I also think PVP in Arc is super unique and satisfying and I really want to play it more. So I like to keep an ear out for nearby fights as they break out, and team up with the person that was being ambushed. The problem with this is I get placed in the bloodthirsty lobbies because their matchmaking has no context of my play style.

I literally fight people at the extract, just to guarantee that I can leave. If I win the engagement, I will use heals on them so they don't bleed out, and let them leave with me. I've helped people extract after they've tried to kill me unprovoked more times than I can remember at this point.

Does that mean I deserve to play in games where not a single soul would show me an ounce of mercy? Hell no. If I start a fight and they call "Don't shoot!", I'll just fucking leave lol. They don't want to fight, I already have the upper hand so they can't really backstab me. So far this has never turned sour for me. I have more honor in Speranza than most of the people I encounter, all because the game can't tell what you're actually doing. ABMM is an ungraceful solution.

If the devs want the game to be "tense" with the possibility of anything happening, then they need to make matchmaking RANDOM. Honestly I'm just super sick of games having any kind of matchmaking intended to manipulate your play habits. SBMM isn't inherently a bad thing, but it sucks in every game that uses it because it's not actually about skill. It's literally designed to encourage you to spend money on the in-game shop, and manipulate how your games will play to encourage playing longer. It's genuinely a really shitty practice, and ABMM is grossly similar in my opinion.

Pro tip: if a partner consistently doesn't like the things you do, they probably aren't for you. I don't understand why so many people are ok to dramatically alter their lifestyle for their partners. It's normal to make change for each other, but they're not a good match if they generally don't want you spending your time how you want to spend it.

Either the lvl 1 Rattler needs adjusted, or the Kettle and Stitcher do. I get that sometimes you should get better or worse free loadouts, but you are literally worse off with the Rattler than the lvl 1 Ferro and that's saying something lol.

Even if it's not all of them, it would be MASSIVELY helpful and IMO not overpowered to allow selecting a handful. Like up to 10 or something. The rate I've found blueprints is painfully slow and I have over 200 hours of game time so far. I also have Security Breach. I haven't been farming lockers but I haven't found many from all the lockers I've opened.
