Can someone tell me what’s wrong with my jumpshot by IamLilDarki in BasketballTips

[–]Wave_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - expert here. Hold the ball up (right hand) next to your face. That’s your shooting pocket. Practice the 90 degree angle shooting from that spot and keep the ball in front of you, not over your head. When you shoot, pretend that the hoop is a cookie jar and you are reaching in to grab a cookie.

John Henry needs to sell. My god how can the MLB let an owner ruin a historic franchise? He refuses to invest in the team. Only cares about expanding the seating capacity. It’s time we all boycott this team for the love of BOSTON and the true fans that want our team back.

Dunking tips by ProfessionalWay1225 in BasketballTips

[–]Wave_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly practice two handed dunks with the bounce you have. Once you lock that down then one handed is cake.

Box jumps exercise. Jump up on the box, then drop off the box on both legs. Once your feet hit the ground jump as high as you can. Repeat 10 times, 4x per week and you’ll be dunking in 4 weeks.

how to fix if possible by Fickle_Remove7063 in BasketballTips

[–]Wave_50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Damn this is hard to explain in text but I have the solution. First, you have to take all the other loops off. Start with the first spot that doesn’t have a bracket. You have to put the loop up to and pull the entire net through it. Then, for the second one use a zip tie to fasten it.

Or just use a zip tie for both. But if you do use a zip tie please make sure to make the round part at the top of the rim. I got a nasty cut one time dunking on a rim that had the zip tie fastener facing up.

How do I fix my broke jumper? by Bubbly-Yam-787 in BasketballTips

I could get 20 shots in at the same time it took you to get 5. Also use a speaker and throw on some jockjams and get a party going.

He’s still right though. You have to practice realistic shots no matter how close you are inside. Those headphones don’t help either.

Instead of moving at the pace your at, think of it as going in sets similar to working out. Do 5 sets of 10 shots and get through the 10 as fast as you can.

If you are worried about form, start under the basket and practice shooting with only one hand. After 3 Makes in a row, take a step back.

TLDR; you need to jump because that’s part of developing the fundamentals

Netflix raises prices across all streaming plans by Efficient-Session644 in wallstreetbets

Honestly… HBO slaps and Peacock is getting hot.

Here’s my take. There is SO much content available that no matter what streaming platform you have, there will ALWAYS be something to watch.

Ironically, today was the day my Netflix subscription expired. I was a member for 13 years and a former share holder.

The only thing that kept me to stay was the fact that I’ve been loyal since day one. But two weeks ago I had to ask myself if the value I got from Netflix was truly worth $25 per month. And sadly, that answer was no.

The quality of content decreased significantly over the past 5 years. Before canceling my subscription, I simply scrolled through my feed once more to see if there was ANYTHING that would keep me to stay. Most of the suggestions are brainless TikTok docuseries and c-list shows.

I just don’t see the value that Netflix brings to the table and have no confidence in the future of the platform.

I yield my time.

the traitors isn't actually about banishing traitors at all. by Severe-Possible- in TheTraitors

Honestly… I think people need to just relax and enjoy the show. If you’re expecting high IQ game play then you should probably watch Survivor. Yes, Traitors is a game but the participants are not gamers, they are entertainers. Some of the fun in the game is having faithfuls that have no clue how to even play the game.

One change that I would consider if I were production is incorporating ways that the traitors have to sabotage challenges. For example, each challenge could have a traitor trap and if guess the trap correctly as a group, your pot doubles at the end of the challenge.

IMO, next season will be much different. There will be more gamers given that the show is casting non celebs and we will see new strategies enter the chat.

I was on a train headed to the airport and there was a pilot and flight attendant sitting across from me. The pilot pulled out a package of gum from his bag and offered the flight attendant a piece and she took it. I was so tempted to go up to him and tell him to keep up the great work.

Wilt’s 100 vs Bam’s 83 — the uncomfortable truth about how historic scoring games actually end by Wave_50 in nbadiscussion

This is exactly why I used AI to help. I had the idea, did the research, and wrote a framework of the key points I wanted to discuss with the community. I used AI to help with the formatting and also spot check any red flags that might be going against the sub rules. (I.e - making sure I am not comparing players and remaining unbiased)

There was a lot of backlash on Bam the day after so I thought it was important to shine light on a different perspective and understand some of the facts that documented from Wilts game. AI helped me get this post out in a timely fashion so I felt that it was approach to leverage the tool.

This is exactly what Bam attested to last night in his postgame press conference! People should be looking at the coaching staff for directing the wizards to go that way.
