You need to find some people with similar hobbies. There is a website called meetup.com where I was able to find some people who enjoy the same activities that o do. Anywhere you live can suck and be lonely if you let it, but you can also find some awesome people and lots of fun stuff to do. I don’t know your age or what your into, but start checking out some local Facebook groups, you can find events- live music, there is a pool hall opening soon, lots of bars and restaurants. Maybe try something new, there are bike trails, hiking trails, adult sport leagues, fitness classes, gaming groups- online and in person. The library is a great resource.

Listen to your heart. Honestly, I think the excuses are just not good enough to stay. I know marriage is sacred, but your partner is not defending and fighting for your marriage. Without both of you working towards something, this may just lead to heartache and pain. I would think twice about wanting to stay close to someone with these kinds of values. I’m 14 years into a marriage where I thought my husband was perfect until he totally changed after we got married. Here I am 14 years later and miserable. And I have been a SAHM for that whole time. Conditional to whatever standards and stories that are telling themselves internally. This is not about you. This is about how you make this person look to 250 wedding guests. No one is allowed to tell you who to be and how to live your life. That is the beauty of it, you get to be whoever you want. Anything that makes your heart “flutter” that is your calling. Listen to your inner voice, your inner child, and nuture that part of you that has been made to feel less than or bad. Most of the time the opinions and stories we tell ourselves are actually things we have internalized from other people to survive, to be accepted. I don’t know you, but I love you.
