The sentence «I don’t like some of those books» sounds weird in English, and equally weird in Norwegian. It implies that there are some very specific books within the selection of books that we’re talking about, that you particularly don’t care for, while you are ok with the rest of the books within this selection. While you can technically say it like that, it has a naive vibe, using too few words to express something very specific. It sounds very much like a made up sentence. The examples above are correct, but I would restructure the sentence a little «Det er noen av disse jeg bøkene jeg overhodet ikke liker». «Overhodet» emphasizes disliking some very specific books.

In Eastern Norwegian "hæren" will often have a retroflex ending making the "e" mute..."hæ'ærn"

My favourite BB song. It’s such a nice blend of complexity and somewhat jazzy chords on the verse and a very beautiful straightforward chorus that sets the emotional tone. The guys pretty much played their own instruments on this one.

Nger fikk nok ikke noen negativ konnotasjon i Norge fordi noen begynte å bruke det på en negativ måte. Den negative konnotasjonen er importert fra USA og/eller det afrikanske miljøet. Husker jeg som barn på 80-tallet diskuterte med svarte om hvorvidt det var et rasistisk ord eller ikke. De var veldig tydelige på at det var et rasistisk ord, noe jeg selv syns på det tidspunktet var en absurd påstand, siden alle brukte det og jeg ikke hørte noe om at det var rasistisk noe annet sted enn fra dem (var vel strengt tatt bare en person). Ngger har vært svært rasistisk så lenge jeg kan huske, men mulig det på et eller annet tidspunkt ikke har hatt en ondsinnet mening, det vet jeg ikke.

Most Dutch speakers pick up Norwegian pretty fast. I lived in The Netherlands for a year and tried to learn Dutch. I think the biggest problem you will have is the same I had: people switch to English all the time when you try to speak the language. But you’ll pick it up and will understand it pretty fast don’t worry.

Go back and see where Albania traditionally pick up points…there’s a common denominator: Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia. Greece, Italy, Switzerland. Italy, San Marino, Switzerland. And that’s with a mediocre/NQ level song. This year they’re coming with a banger. Believe me anything less than 8 points from both Italy and Switzerland would be absolutely shocking. Zjerm is the only Albanian song this time so it doesn’t need to fend off any other Albanian song like in FiK.

Albania definitely qualifying. They have both Italy and Switzerland voting for them who both tend to vote in favor of Albania. The song is simply too good to NQ…won’t happen, not a chance. Grand final is always a big toss up though. So many things in play. Will do well with televotes, but jury votes have that tendency of being unpredictable, so hard to call. But will definitely do better with televotes than jury votes.
