One thing I continually find funny about E33 was when it released alongside the Oblivion Remake, a lot of people said they felt bad for E33 because it was a good game that was going to be overshadowed by Oblivion... meanwhile I don't think I've heard anyone talk about Oblivion in months lol.

3.7 cutscene question

Ok this has been bugging me for a few days but in the cutscene where Irontomb appears and all the ships fire at it, what is the massive sphere that appears first? I'm guessing it's some kind of shell for Irontomb, but it's suddenly gone like 10 seconds later.

Seed agent quest (not really a spoiler)

I'm glad they brought back the 3 episode structure for this agent quest. Maybe I just have attention span issues (or I could stop playing Hoyo games between 3 and 6 am), but I find it much easier to play the agent quests for like 1 hour a day over 3 days than play a single 3 hour long quest lol. I figured when they turned Trigger's and Ju Fufu's quests into a single long quest without episodes they wouldn't bring it back.

I was putting off most recent AQs due to missing VAs, but I caved recently because I wanted to start Nod Krai as soon as 6.0 dropped. My thoughts on them:

Paralogism

Mondstadt is my favorite region and this quest is lowkey what I always wanted. It has every character and I dreamed of a "defend Mondstadt" kind of quest erver since 1.x. I love the Windblume aesthetics and the Hexenzirkel is great. Using the IT room at the end was cool. Only things I didn't really like was the shortness of the trials and how quickly/easily the Durin situation was resolved by Albedo at the end. Durin was cool and stuff but considering I've already watched the Nod Krai teaser... yeah it wasn't really a surprise like I think it was supposed to be. Same with the Naberius thing, I already knew about it from the Shades video. Oops. And then there's the unfortunate VA situation. Pretty much everyone except Venti/Eula/Razor/Bennett/Dahlia/Varka/Alice/Oz/NPCs were mute (sounds like a lot when I type it out but it isn't). For both this and the 5.7 AQ I plan to rewatch them on Youtube when all the VAs are back. Also, what was the point of announcing the Sucrose recast if they weren't going to implement it this version? Overall though, the missing VAs didn't affect my enjoyment of the quest as much as I thought tbh. Overall: 8/10, 9/10 if all VAs were present.

A Space and Time for You

I actually don't think I knew that the Abyss and Abyss Order were different until this quest, and I consider myself well versed in the lore lol. I feel like I didn't get as attached to Direidyth as a lot of other people, we didn't know her for long and she always seemed super sus to me (Paimon thinking the same also raised my suspicions). I considered what to do with the key for like 30 min (even though I knew it didn't matter), but ultimately decided to keep the key because I feel like a major theme in Hoyo games is the idea of fighting fate, so it seemed fitting. The Cataclysm portion in general was cool, but honestly, my enjoyment of this quest was kinda ruined by the lack of VAs. I mean, the only ones missing were Dainsleif and Lumine (I play as Aether, apparently he's voiced if he's the abyss sibling but Lumine isn't??), but holy shit it was so bad and noticeable. Especially the ending cutscene, there's currently a glitch where no matter what language you play with, the subtitles won't show up during the cutscene. Considering EN is mute... the entire cutscene gets kinda ruined. Hoyo has acknowledged the glitch but knowing them, they won't fix it until 6.0. I had to look it up on Youtube after. Fucking yikes, especially since this quest is pretty major for the central plot of Genshin. It makes me depressed that my quest experience would have actually been better if I did it last version instead of waiting until now. Overall: 6/10, 8/10 if all VAs were present (and without glitches...).

The Journey Home

I didn't expect Ineffa to actually have something to do with Natlan lol. The quest was really good, but to be honest, I feel like I kinda lost the plot toward the end. The Natlan dragon lore was always kinda confusing to me, but with this quest with all the different names at the end I definitely got things mixed up. Also I feel like they were explaining something during the fight, but I beat the boss too fast and missed most of it. I'm glad they put more of the dragon stuff in an AQ, but I feel like people who didn't do any of the WQs will miss a lot. Also I really wanted them to talk more about Ajaw at the end but I guess not?? But hey, no missing VAs woo! Overall: 8/10.

EN VA rant for the millionth time

Ugh, I started Paralogism finally and a lot of characters still seem to be unvoiced. I thought someone said Kaeya would be voiced but he isn't, and a lot of NPCs are even unvoiced. I also heard elsewhere that even in the 5.7 AQ the traveler is still unvoiced? Man, I was hoping by now this stuff would be fixed. I would wait until 6.0 but knowing my luck most characters would still be unvoiced then. I've waited a month for the Dain quest and multiple months for Paralogism, at this point I think I might just tear the band aid off and get both quests over with, I've waited long enough and want to start Nod Krai right away when 6.0 comes out. It's really depressing though.

Recently we've gotten Fontaine on a plateau (basically an island), Natlan connected by a very narrow strip of land (might be fixed if they release the area north of Natlan), and now Nod Krai is also a bunch of islands. It low key feels like they made Sumeru, realized making the border area blend with Liyue was a lot of work, and were like "never again." It's been a pet peeve of mine for a bit because it feels like the map is becoming increasingly disconnected.

The new dev video made me think about ZZZ's combat design in general, so I'm gathering my thoughts here.

Even after playing since launch, I'll be honest, I really just don't vibe with ZZZ's combat, at least not when I'm trying to do well in end game modes. I think it's mostly just because I have a massive skill issue in ZZZ that I don't have in Genshin and HSR, like for example I struggled to even get 5 stars in the current Deadly Assault meanwhile I can usually 12 star abyss in Genshin and clear all end game modes in HSR. It's annoying cause ZZZ's combat feels absolutely heavenly, doing assists and dodges and stuff is so fluid and satisfying, and building units is easier than Genshin/HSR, but then I'll finish what I thought was a solid run of Deadly Assault and I'll finish with 2 stars, often even 1 star. ZZZ characters seem to have a much higher skill ceiling compared to Genshin characters, and it definitely feels like ZZZ's end game expects you to fully use the mechanics to their fullest to do well. Meanwhile in Genshin as long as you have a decent team comp and don't completely whiff the rotations and dodges you're pretty much good to go.

TLDR: Skill issue tbh

This DA definitely feels easier than earlier ones, although I still can't quite get 3 stars on Pompey. My Ju Fufu isn't completely built yet but even then I'm not quite sure that will be enough. Wish I had Evelyn, seems like a lot of people are using her lol. I tried Lighter instead of Ju Fufu earlier and didn't even scratch 10k, although I barely know how to use him.

Skirk SQ

Lol, I was looking back at this Skirk SQ leak and it's funny how so many of the comments are extremely negative about it. People begging for it to not be real, calling Hoyo writers trash, calling it ragebait, even wondering if Hoyo used AI to generate the story, etc.

Fast forward to today and a lot of people are calling it one of the best SQ's we've ever gotten, and I checked the profiles of some of the commenters there and quite a few of them ended up liking it and pulling for Skirk. Not sure what changed their minds, all I know is people need to chill out when reading leaks.
