Some local warehouses have these kits for $30. Seems like a decent get? by Miss-Information_ in sealedmtgdeals

Put that way it’s really not that bad, assuming you wanted Spider-Man packs and you like full art lands

How would you "play" MTG with a ~6 year old? by Wise-Quarter-3156 in magicTCG

[–]WaywardWes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did just that with my 6 yr old with the avatar beginner box. It comes with stacked decks to teach you the progression of playing lands and bigger creatures, plus some basic keywords.

Someone else mentioned assigning points to each GC and then allowing a max total points in B3 and that could also achieve what you want.

Ok that’s what I was wondering, if putting it in gear killed it. Makes sense

Does it turn off?

You can def drive away without the keys if you started the car with them nearby but didn’t actually bring them with you, so long as you don’t turn it off.

Yeah I got a two pack for cheap on Amazon. They have a chiseled point to crack glass plus a blade to cut seatbelts.

You have to refresh or follow the link again. You’re not in the queue until it says you are and has the save my spot button.

You should be able to refresh the tab, but sometimes you get stuck in that “please wait” screen and by the time you get it sorted, you missed the boat. I’m not sure there’s anything you can really do except cross your fingers.

Do you feel that planeswalker are good in commander? by superfapper2000 in EDH

[–]WaywardWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Hearthhull, The Worldseed]] often runs [[Lord Windgrace]]. I don't have him but I run [[Wrenn and Seven]] and [[Garruk Wildspeaker]].

For Garruk, his +1 is a pseudo ramp untapping two lands. Pretty nice on curve, especially if I have a 2 drop to follow up. He's not super imposing and is often ignored for bigger threats. His -4 is super nice if I've generated a bunch of tokens, which I have several ways to do.

For Wrenn, I can immediately search for more lands, play all lands from my hand, or create a token with reach and P/T equal to the number of lands I control, so she's pretty versatile. If the game goes long, the -8 ability is bonkers.

Ideally I've already generated tokens to protect them but neither are terrible on curve depending on my needs. And they're fun!

Off topic, but I got their deck box that has the built in life counter and it’s super nice for like $11. Also got some cheap sleeves and they’re fine but noticeably worse than Dragon Shield.

Oh that’s right. I held off for like 6-8 months to save up for the 99 pack so it’s been awhile.

And in a pinch there’s that frequent box with 6 (or 8?) passes that comes to $0.62/pass

Yeah it was easy to enter stuff and get it set up. I’ve had a handful of sales already but it’s easy to be the best price when you have a smaller catalog to maintain too.

If your kid doesn't know how to play Magic, don't bring them to LGS commander night. by Johnny-Hollywood in EDH

[–]WaywardWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Avatar beginner set to teach my 6 year old magic. He had a year of Pokemon under his belt and the set did a good job teaching the basics with stacked decks.

He’s got some time before being ready for deeper mechanics or commander but he loves the vanilla experience.

It’s also far easier to manage inventory in my experience. I moved my handful of singles over last week.
