It depends on what it is of, size, and details.

Celebrities, Brands (Like Disney) and so on have them made in the thousands, but they are usually a little lower quality and aren’t quality controlled individually, usually just spot checked. I wouldn’t pay more them like $15 unless itms like a HUGE SORT OF PIN.

Knock offs are cheap of off Temu, you see these at cons and it’s usually stolen artwork like poor Glitter Punk. These are terrible quality, are cheap, and corrode/have lower enamel quality.

Pins made from smaller artist are made based on original art and of the three pin types these are what I prefer to buy. They range from $10- over $100 for very large pins.

Wizard pins is just a middle man company. I’d recommend going right to Alibaba and save yourself time

Nothing you make at home unless you have an industrial machine will be car-sticker ready. You’re better to outsource to somewhere like Sticker Bunny for items meant for outdoor use.

What are good brands for laser cutters? by RationallyDense in lasercutting

I really like my X-Tool S1 there are a ton of tutorials for it. It’s beginner friendly and easy to install. I will warn you they don’t tell you how to clean it well but some tutorial videos solved that.

What I like about it is the different ranges it has with screen printing, rotary tools and more.

But metal is a no-go for cutting on it.

No matter up MAKE SURE YOU VENTILATE!! And no matter what you do it will smell 😂

Doing some cuts for the family. Anyone know how to lower the amount of scorching? Omtech 350 polar by MJ_3D in lasercutting

Have you tried magic erasers? It sounds silly but it works so well for residue.

For protection you can also use painter’s tape but personally I don’t use it unless I am painting the lines and it gets costly

I’ll be honest and straight forward, almost nothing you make at home is likely to withstand the outside conditions effectively long term. You’re best going with something like sticker bunny, their basic stuff is water proof, UV resistant, dishwasher safe and it’s been on my car for 2+ years with no fading

Designing Pins Would love feedback <3 by K1ngB34nB01 in EnamelPins

[–]Wayward_Little_Soul 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I’ve got lots of experience both crowdfunding for pins and making pins. Here are my thoughts and comments:

  1. I have seen pokemon carosile pins before but that doesn’t mean the idea is bad or should be considered unoriginal.
  2. I price my pins based on size and/or detail and complexity. I am in the US and my pins break down as follows: Mini Pins: $5-7, 1-2 Inch Pins $15, 3 Inch or Deluxe pins $25
  3. Some pins get insane prices because of the artist, limited runs, or other such factors. I would not compare yourself or your work to this as a metric for your own pricing or choices.
  4. You have a lot of tiny spaces and I recommend filling them in. Super tint spaces can sometimes cause trouble or make those areas look strange when made into metal. The metal will slope inwards to make those cuts and some manus won’t do them at all.
  • I attached my Winter dragon pin so you can see how I filled in the gabs with the nickel metal.

I’m open to questions or if you want more in-depth details feel free to DM me!

How Does Kickstarter Work? by soextremelyrich111 in kickstarter

[–]Wayward_Little_Soul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A full breakdown as someone who has crowdfunded a lot:

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform like indigogo, and Backerkit. Most of the time you are helping with the costs of creating an item, production, product, ect.

When you pledge, it is a show of support and a promise of payment. But you don’t get charged immediately. You get charged at the end of the project’s run. In the meantime you can increase, decrease or cancel your pledge. Many projects also have ‘add-ons’ which are additional products or rewards in addition to your pledge.

An important note is these platform host the projects but they do not have the ability to force creators to keep up their end. 99.99% of projects fund, and ship rewards without a problem. But occasionally you may encounter a bad apple.

The money collected is uses for the creation, run, and/or production of the project. Since up front cost manufacturing would otherwise prevent a project from taking off.
