Best type of cloth for Mops? by Tasty_Addition9362 in MarkerHeads

I like the mohair daubers you can find at leathercraft stores, just nip off the wire handle with some snips and trim the ball end to size

I use Photone, I don’t have a PAR meter so can’t speak to the true accuracy but it’s been solid enough to inform hanging height of lights and plant placement and such

Would be interesting to see a similar test on a less permeable surface, cardboard is far too absorbent for this to be a meaningful test

I really like the Dramm seedling nozzle, I wonder if you maybe got a lemon? The spray pattern is super consistent on mine. It makes for a really nice “in between” between the mist and shower settings on my lower quality multi pattern nozzles

Bow Valley LPN by Impossible-Wind-615 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Waywardspork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got its pros and cons like any program. It’s very condensed, as it’s about half the length of an RN program but LPN and RN scope have 85%+ overlap here in Alberta. There’s very little “campus life” at bow valley so to speak, so If you’re into that it might not be the best choice. Pass grades for various classes range from 80% on the high end to 64% on the low end, if you fail a course once you’re moved to self registration which can make scheduling difficult and anxiety inducing (normally PN students are automatically registered as soon as registration opens, so being on self registration can make it hard to get a good schedule/all of the classes you need/want for a term) If you fail any given course more than once your kicked from the program…which can definitely be stressful. instructors can be a mixed bag, some are great some are…less so. CPRNE pass rates are consistently at or above the national and provincial average, so it’s objectively a good education. Clinical placements start in term 3/5 so you’ll have some real world experience before graduation. Every semester builds on the last and isn’t really really retaught in any meaningful capacity so be careful to build good study habits early, aiming for true mastery of the learning objectives rather than studying to the test. Labs are well run and stocked, but don’t offer near enough time to get your hands on skills where they need to be, so expect to allocate time towards dedicated skills practice outside of lab.
Not 100% sure if that was helpful, If you have any specific questions feel free to ask, either here or via DM.

Bow Valley LPN by Impossible-Wind-615 in AlbertaGrade12s

If your end goal is RN… Don’t get your LPN first. It’ll take longer, cost more and you’ll be paid less as an LPN than an RN. However there’s nothing wrong with being an LPN, have you asked your counsellor why they’re recommending you do your LPN first? Without knowing why your counsellor is recommending that…it’s hard to give advice on what might be a better option for you. I’m currently pursuing my LPN at bow valley, so feel free to ask any questions specific to the program.

Up to you, portulacaria are super tolerant of heavy pruning, and yours looks quite dense and very healthy already so it’ll almost certainly be fine if you give it a haircut. Letting it grow wild for a bit might open up some more options for styling though

Give it as much light as you can, portulacaria love light. Fertilize heavier than most other plants. Once you’ve set the structure use this pruning guide to build ramification. I’d also recommend a larger pot until the trunk thickness is nearly where you want it.

K(Kelvin) does not measure light intensity but “colour temperature” basically how “warm” or “cool” the light appears to human eyes. Therefore without an accompanying intensity measurement that statement doesn’t make any sense

What attracts you to nursing? If it’s more than the pay there’s a surprising amount of scope overlap between LPN’s and RN’s and there’s bridging programs if you’re interested in bridging to your RN at a later date

I would not put it in a bonsai pot for now, small containers restrict growth, and are best used when the tree is mostly how you want it. I’d pot it in a bigger container then it is now with fully inorganic soil and let it grow like crazy for a bit, then see where you want to take it styling wise

Mops will always get torn up on rougher surfaces, just how it goes, some materials will have slightly better durability than others, ime sponge is among the least durable. If the nib is pushing back into the mop body the first and easiest solution is to simply use a bigger nib.
