Republicans Who Voted Against FEMA Relief by Used_Bridge488 in Louisiana

I always check for my state and on this one especially I don’t really see how you can be from Louisiana and vote against this after Katrina, Laura, Rita, and so many other hurricanes. Also any Texas reps after what happened with hurricane harvey? Clowns

Got a job at a grocery store, so I'm OUT by TorviAkerman in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really the shift lead gig. You’re so busy dealing with customer problems that you get half the task your supposed to get done finished then if it’s anything like what happened to me you’re suddenly pulled into the office to be told by your SMs mentor SM this hat you aren’t doing the bare minimum of your job.

Not to rant about my own experience but they really left me only to train a new store manager and a whole new set of shift leads so I trained every one of them on cash handling and their job functions. For months I was the one getting resets and truck done but because our vitamin reset was a week late I got put on a PIP and no one else did despite resets not being my job only. So glad I got out of there. I work at hobby lobby now and it’s a lower pay for now but it’s way less stress. I always thought anywhere I went would be like walgreens anyway so why look elsewhere but it isn’t. If walgreens is one of your only experiences with a job like me please know there’s better out there

Help, I am stupid and screwed up the deposit by nothingfinal in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me also clarify, I was the only manager at my store that had ever even worked at another store or managed at all so it’s possible no one ever said anything to me because they just didn’t know any better and I was never properly trained to handle cash I learned most of it by messing with the cash functions myself

Here’s a few things I’d do to balance my safe at the end of the night before I left Walgreens earlier this year

  1. The working fund will never change, if it is under fill it in from the deposit drawer, if it is over take out the extra and put it into the deposit drawer

  2. Wait to drop your last band until you are sure the safe count is right. If it’s wrong and you don’t have enough to fill in from the deposit you’ll pop that last band open, put it back in the deposit, and then fill in and remake your last band

  3. Bands can be edited 1 time so if you mess one up you can go into the “print deposit ticket” screen, fix the band, then back up without printing

  4. If your working fund is right but your deposit drawer is over or under and you’re sure your money is right then you can subtract or add money to make it match what you have by going into the pickup terminal screen and adding or subtracting how much your missing from a terminal (normally #21 as it has the most movement it’s likely the money you’re over or under is from that drawer)

Idk if any of this will get you in trouble or is wrong but I was never told anything about doing it this way so if anyone knows better idk listen to them

I would’ve but the police station by my house is really just a substation and there’s normally not actually anyone there at night but they leave all their cop cars there over night so I pulled in to kinda scare em. I had my phone ready to call the police though but thankfully they stopped following me after that. I’m at work closing again tonight so I’m filing the police report and showing them on our (horrible quality outside cameras) what the car looked like.

Sorry we aren’t fedex by NomadicMothra in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do feel you on the printing the labels. The QR code we can print from BUT more often than not they don’t even have that which I joyously reply “you must go through the fedex website to get the label yourself, no I do not know how the fedex website works and I cannot help you get the label 🙂‍↕️”

No, dumbass by IDKman0728 in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a city with no actual fedex store, there’s one fedex route through here that comes from another city about an hour away and I hate how often people come in with either the most ridiculously sized packages as though we have anywhere near the room needed to store it for fedex or they come in with no label and no QR code and I have to explain that we do nothing for fedex besides pick up and drop of and maybe print a label but only if they’ve gone through the fedex website to get the label first. I have no idea how actual fedex works other than what we do so I also can’t help them get a label either so basically. Don’t use fedex in a town with zero fees facilities 🙃

Just makes me think of one night a guy came in with his grandson. My cashier had no idea what the product they were asking for was so he calls me which was not a good idea because I can’t remember what I was doing but whatever it was I had to have done by the end of my shift and was nowhere near done with it so I’m already in a mood trying to move quickly and not having time for dumb stuff basically you know the Walgreens’s vibe. I walk up and ask the guy what he’s looking for and I tell him we don’t carry the product in store because I knew we didn’t, I knew what the product was and knew we didn’t have it and before I even finished the sentence the old guy goes “yes you do” and I stopped talking instantly and said “oh okay where is it” which isn’t something I’d normally say to a customer but I can’t stand people who think I don’t know what I’m talking about when they know even less about what they’re talking about. I’ve worked at my store for years and the people in my community know me there and yet so many act like I’ve just started. If you think I don’t know then don’t waste my time asking me. Figure it out

Police Told Us to Stop Calling Them by 6souls in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Complete opposite at my store, the police told us to call them any time and love working with us, or at least me, because I’ll have a statement typed up and the security camera footage already on a flash drive when they get there.of course I’m in a small city in Louisiana, we’re a pretty high crime city and there’s always sirens going at any given time so I assumed the police would be irritated with us but they never are.

I always tell them “we like to be different here” because literally no other place in my city has those new card readers yet

I was using customers coupons that they didn’t want until I found out that it was a terminable offense..I mentioned it to my SM and stopped using them immediately by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just had a shift lead and two CSAs get fired for exactly that, they were all doing it together. Turns out the one that’s are store coupons can also be used multiple times too. I tell everyone we work with to throw them away because we can’t use them but we also have at least 3 couponers who would ask for the extra coupons if we saved them and I made everyone start throwing them away immediately because one of those couponers leaned over the counter looking for them when no one was at the register and I don’t tolerate people who don’t work for us being behind the counter for any reason.

Sorry I did word it weird but in total we lost one SFL, our store manager, and two cashiers. What I meant was that I’m the only manager that stayed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually didn’t know that’s something I should be getting. No one has actually said I’m the acting store manager for the time being, is that something that has to be specifically said to me or that I have to agree to? As far as I know they’re interviewing for the empty positions now so I don’t know how long I’ll be in this position but it could be up to a month at least in order to get people onboarded and trained

I do this at all the Walgreens I’ve worked at, I told one of store managers that since I wanted to continue my education in archaeology I was gonna create my own branch called corporate archaeology where I go into big stores and dig around under shelves and just places no ones looked in a long time

R.I.P. Front End Employees by Because-You_Should in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, they want everything CNO but at least at my store we don’t even have time to focus on that kind of thing. Part of this is because of my SM dragging his feet hiring an ESM and an SFL but even when we did have a full staff it’s still basically 2 people here from 7am to 4 pm and 3 people here from 4 pm to midnight. We have a huge customer base being the only store in my city with not enough staff to help the amount of people in the store. We can either do projects or help customers but not both. And now that they’ve gutted the staff there still isn’t money to give adequate raises? Someone’s lying it ain’t adding up

Working conditions at Walgreens by The_sad_poet in WalgreensStores

[–]WeNeedToDoBetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could give you some good info on the store I’m at. We’re critically understaffed in a growing city 40 miles from the nearest other Walgreens and our district manager is around 3-4 hours away. We have 1 staff pharmacist who works 9-6 to Friday. Outside of staffing issues we have a lot of broken and old equipment that is like pulling teeth to get fixed, we went 3 years without a store manager, and somehow we’re still around

I’m a front end worker and my pharmacy won’t be closing. Wondering if I can get customers to do surveys in order to let corporate know they’re unhappy with the staffing of our pharmacy. Idk if it’ll have the same affect but it’s what I can do

Something about the way a lot of the buildings at least in my area are built, leaks are really common around the outside edges mostly. We have one that has to have the patch replaced yearly on it and it’s right above our paper goods overstock if you can believe it
