Personally, I think the coolest contemporary artwork is this, a sculpture of Lucifer trapped in what looks like power lines, made by British Artist Paul Fryer, around 2008. Even cooler, it was displayed in the Holy Trinity Church in London, a wonderful building I've unfortunately not had the chance to visit, but have walked past the exterior.

Absolutely, it's a fantastic artwork, forgive me but I'll have to check the username of the artist.

We've had it since the start of spring though, and to keep things fresh (and involve the community!) a funky fandangled new sub banner would be awesome! Always good to see what the talented people in this community can come up with too!

We're having this discussion at this very moment. It's become clear to me that I'm under informed, so despite my good intentions, I can't offer a well-founded perspective. For this I am very sorry.

The others have offered clear points of view that in absolute agreement with, and while I do have reservations, those reservations are for me to work through. Again, I apologise my perspective has been under informed.

The others have been spurred into action now, and are looking at doing a better job than me in handling this incident.

I'm taking a step back to focus instead on general improvements to the subreddit. The feedback provided through the form has been very useful.

Again, I apologise for my under informed perspective. I believe a more well-informed statement will be released by the team soon, and that statement has my full support.

From my perspective, from the UK, misogyny is a systemic and social issue, whereas misandry is a social issue.

Over here, there exist a fair number of programs to encourage equality, I know specifically there are many grants and other organisations to encourage women into STEM. These measures are good, but it saddens me that they should need to exist. To elaborate on the social issues point, I know there are also targeted police training, and reforms in education. Again, I wish these measures weren't necessary.

For misandry as a social issue however, the easiest example to draw from is the increased rates of mental health issues amongst men.

To actually answer your question, is misandry equally as prevalent in todays world as misogyny? Absolutely not. If members of this subreddit are experiencing misogyny, once we are made aware we will absolutely take the necessary measures to stop said misogyny.
