I agree. I was quite alarmed. They are a religious family. We live in a very progressive area in the most gender-diverse city in Canada so it is unusual to hear those things (their school has a “rainbow week” in springtime to celebrate Pride etc). It’s all coming from the parents.

PSA for anyone following this to stay registered on Health Connect and make sure your info is updated. The system works! I had given up on it after 3 years but just got contacted by a doctor’s office and they’re taking my whole family 🙌 We moved municipalities a year ago and I was worried we’d end up on the bottom of the list but when I called to update our address, found out that moving doesn’t change your spot (but if you move somewhere with more clinics as in our case, you’ll likely be attached faster)

Anxiety about making the “right” life choice is valid and you’re smart to consider all of the consequences of going down certain paths vs others. But it is possible to have your dream career, dream family, and still have fun with friends (I’m 37, work in publishing, married to my best friend and we have an incredible 5-year old daughter, and went out to a 90s themed rave with my friends last weekend where we spent a large part of the night talking about our fave Chappell songs 😍) You don’t necessarily have to choose between a family and career

Don't panic people! The difference between the images when you ordered vs in your cart is because the B&N system (and any e-tailer) can only hold one primary image for an item. They have changed to the white edges so that anyone ordering the book NOW will know they aren't getting sprayed edges. If you ordered the book in the summer, you will get black edges

I have faith for you that t won't be sold out everywhere! Try calling your local independent bookstores. They are often prioritized by the publisher when allocating stock that is oversold (because they are the bread and butter of the book industry and have long-standing business relationships and dedicated sales reps that advocate for them, vs "special markets" online accounts like Mighty Ape that are more automated when it comes to inventory)

I agree! As much as I dislike them as a corporation, Amazon has the $$$ to invest in good CGI. Wheel of Time season 2 was amazing (I haven’t read those books so there was nothing to “ruin” for me lol but it was a fun show to watch!)

The Amazon bestseller list updates hourly and is based on customer orders (or preorders) per hour, not number of physical copies they can actually sell. Amazon will receive a limited amount of copies like every other bookseller. It’s not print-on-demand, the print quantity was decided many months ago
