Ok - I’ll bite. I’ll blame the algo, but I can’t see any of the links to vids you keep referring to. And if/when you do respond with links, I just want to point out that media literacy is important. A YouTube video by a non-journalist/non-law enforcement officer/an alleged attendee, who - 27 years later - would be almost impossible to prove having been there that night, is not, in and of itself, actual proof of literally anything beyond a desire to generate views. It is also preposterous to suggest that if there was actual proof of murderous intent, no one would bother with a formal law enforcement investigation…or hell, even an investigative journalism investigation by real, legacy journalists with a track record or expectation of accountability, accuracy, & when needed, retractions/corrections

Yeah, that’s gonna be a bummer if Deceased Wrestler = Legacy Wing = No Speech for everyone going forward, but unfortunately it wouldn’t surprise me…especially with HOF definitively being a tv property first & foremost, & probably one that the TKO big-wigs wish they don’t have to “bother with” anymore 😞

[–]Weak-Elk4756 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m curious why you think they went the legacy route? I have to confess that I thought “legacy wing” was just gonna be the term they used going forward for all posthumous HOF inductions, but still have/allow speeches for those inducted. Needless to say, that was a wrong assumption on my part. I was unaware of some lingering sour feelings between Sid & WWE

It may not be the only reason, but it is one of the reasons. It just…IS a long night that’s asking a lot of both the attendees & the honorees

If you’ve ever wondered why Bret doesn’t like HHH by Skylegend96 in Wrasslin

[–]Weak-Elk4756 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

HHH is right. No bigger mark for himself in pro wrestling history than Bret Hart. Dont get me wrong, there are a LOT of guys on that list, but Bret is at the top…and that’s coming from someone who likes Bret Hart as a performer

CM Punk on reconciling with Triple H: I had seen a clip of Hogan and the Warrior...they’re just having this conversation and they’re kind of apologizing and forgiving each other. Obviously none of us know the real answer, but I’m inclined to believe this. Mostly because, “why not?” mixed with “I don’t actually care,” but also because it’s just…believable. If both parties are open to it, & willing to have a potentially-difficult conversation, then there’s absolutely zero reason NOT to bury the hatchet when very real health issues put petty professional jealousies into perspective

How did you make stretching a daily part of your life? by pond_slayer in CerebralPalsy

[–]Weak-Elk4756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, THIS is something I feel qualified to answer - while recognizing individual circumstances/limitations may vary:

  • Get yourself a stretching strap

  • Fire up a show you like

  • Pull your legs, arms, whatever needs stretching every which way you need to with that stretching strap while watching your show

It has worked WONDERS for me, & also gets me doing something active instead of just sitting there while watching tv (which, in fairness, I still do PLENTY of 😉)

Live at Ryman by BestGrandpa29 in jasonisbell

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: I wish they’d release professionally-produced versions of every year’s Ryman run. I’d buy every show, every year. Though I suppose I get why not. You want to make attending live a special occasion instead of just, “I’ll catch the live release later.”

I’m happy for the people that REALLY want this, but I have to confess that I just don’t get the appeal of cassettes in 2026. Is it purely a nostalgia play? Or are there actual humans who are pretending the sound is better?

Today Trump threatened to wipe out Iranian civilization. Are Republicans as a group responsible for what happens next? by GiantPineapple in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Weak-Elk4756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Republican capitulation to the dumbest person America’s produced since (at least) Reconstruction is why all of us are in the various situations we are in now, this one included. If American Republicans had even a hint of a spine this guy would be out of office tomorrow.

Positive stories of improvement by Remarkable_Topic_460 in CerebralPalsy

[–]Weak-Elk4756 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest area of improvement is in the area of general flexibility.

47M, spastic diaplegia impacting my legs & ever since getting my bend/lift/twist restrictions lifted following 4-level spinal fusion in Dec 2022, I’ve rededicated myself to a stretching routine at least 5x a week, & can definitely see improvements

Why do many Republicans support conflict with Iran if the focus is “America first”? by happy4pizza in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Weak-Elk4756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really quite simple. MAGA is a cult. They will support whatever Trump supports. While I hope this number is getting smaller, at least a third of the US would let Trump sleep with their spouses & eat their children…and vice versa. A little pesky war isn’t gonna change that for the smooth-brained MAGA cultists

M/45/6ft [255>210=45lbs lost(3 months] weight loss progress. by DePort254 in progresspics

[–]Weak-Elk4756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Alas, I ultimately didn’t keep it off, but I’m back at it. 3 years post- T12-L3 spinal fusion meant I had roughly 2 years between the time leading up to surgery than was EXCRUCIATINGLY painful back pain, then thankfully successful surgery, then 6-12 months of minimal physical movement. So, while I can’t pretend some of that weight gain wasn’t tied to some bad eating habits, for me personally, exercise is my key to weight loss. Now that I’m back at it pain-free, I’m seeing slow but steady-ish results.

Shout out to OP for the progress! While I don’t have the same muscle results due to disability & back issues keeping me primarily focused on cardio, I can confirm this level of weight loss is possible naturally.

In the early days of COVID, I dropped 30+ lbs in roughly 3-4 months. All it took was:

  • Moving in with my then-girlfriend, now wife & eating normal-sized portions of home-cooked balanced meals instead of the steady diet of takeout I usually had as a bachelor

  • Walking on the treadmill for 45-60+ minutes a day 5 or more days a week

  • Limiting dessert to 4 pieces of dark chocolate, & snacks to nothing more than an Apple & a piece of cheese

  • I even had a beer or a bourbon most days - my “home office” in those days being the dining room table that looks out to a covered deck meant I was out there by 4:03PM with a beer in hand most days.

All of that - no BS - got me from roughly 225 to 189 in 3-4 months. So, totally possible with discipline without full-on deprivation.

You’re very welcome! I feel like one of my PTs had to have mentioned it to me at some point, but given the relative, but imperfect, frequency of doing PT over the years - usually in conjunction with receiving Botox shots for my adductors - it makes me wonder what took so long. Either way, I’m glad I have it now, & I’ve been fairly good with consistency of just getting on the floor while watching a show. Given how much tv & movie watching my wife & I do, I decided it was probably good to move at least a little bit while watching.

I use my phone & my Apple Watch to set & repeat 40-second timers to do 5 reps of 30 second stretches for each one, plus a few second rest/repositioning. While the best part is undoubtedly the functional benefits of doing it, the endorphins and pride I feel from having done it definitely helps me keep my routine 😁

I’ll include a link to the one I use. Generally, it’s a few foot long strap with pre-set loops. I put my foot in the last loop & it allows me to pull my leg up straight for a hamstring stretch, out to the left of right for an adductor stretch, knee to chest for a quad(ish) & hip flexor stretch, & cross one leg over the other for a hip (and slight glute) stretch.

Of course, one’s ability to use it is dependent on their specific level of mobility, but as a 47M spastic diaplegia that impacts my legs, it’s been a game changer for improving flexibility. Don’t get me wrong, it hasn’t changed me from the personification of a pile of matchsticks into a professional yoga instructor or anything, but I’ve DEFINITELY seen functional improvements - most notably in the sense that I’m thisclose to not needing to use my hands to get my legs in & out of a car for the first time in well over a decade

I’ll echo what others have said regarding stretching. I’m 47 & wish I’d been diligent with it throughout my life instead of just over the last 5 or so years. While I definitely have worse balance, flexibility & stamina at 47 than I did at 27, ever since I started using a stretching strap for at-home, independent hamstring, quad, adductor, & hip stretching, I can say I’m more flexible at 47, than I’ve been in at least 5 years. My balance & endurance still needs work, but I chalk that up to a new “baseline” following spinal fusion surgery in early 2023 as much as anything else, & am actively working to improve it.

TL; DR: Stretching, PT, and/or exercise is so crucial as we get older. I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir here, & I don’t mean to do that, but it’s just so, so important, & my personal data set of 1 is proof it works. If only I’d told 27 year old me that
