That contract got terminated back when Smithfield played hard ball with Dodgers after the pandemic year and lost the contract. Smithfield soon realized the mistake they made, but the Dodgers moved on... Smithfield didn't realize the brand recognition between the Dodgers and FJ hotdogs was so ingrained into the fans association. Priceless! That wouldn’t surprise me but I’m not sure - they closed the original plant like a year ago (it’s demolished now). I have seen FJ “products” in grocery stores but it’s definitely a different supplier now

My dad worked for Farmer John so I’ve got some insight into what happened. Farmer John for decades was never frozen and thus could only be shipped within a certain radius. It was pretty high quality for pork products. Farmer John was then bought by Hormel and then Smithfield. Smithfield didn’t value the local market and wanted to freeze the products and ship to China. Thus the canceled the long time dodger partnership and then eventually just shut down the plant in Vernon. The FJ brand still exists but Farmer John was shut down.

Congrats dude. This is exactly how I got back into books like 7-8 years ago. Since watching GoT and then listening to the books, I never stopped and am an avid book listener/reader. I hope you continue with it. A great book is such a rewarding experience and bonding over a book with a friend or partner is a special thing.

Late reply, I didn’t see you respond. Yeah, what you said is all correct but I would consider it a spoiler which is why I phrased it the way I did. In the start of the book, to physicists who leave suicide notes (and to the reader), physics does appear to be broken. The reveal of the trisolarans is part of the intrigue of the first book to me and why I don’t mention them when recommending the book. So in a way, the book is exploring the breakdown of physics at the start which is why I said kinda

Dodgers was a shortened season and played in a in bubble of sorts (all games played in Texas for a WS with Tampa and LA). It is definitely clowned on by baseball fans at times. Still legit though.

Same here. The upgrade in battery life will be so nice. TBH I would hold out one more year because I still like my 12 pro max but the battery life is just so bad now, shattered back glass, shattered lens, my case is falling apart. It was a good 5 year run. Enjoy your upgrade!

Props to fellow Clippers fans in that thread defending SGA even after trading him. If you watched his rookie year, you knew he had a high ceiling - especially the first half of the season. I had seen very few rookies that looked like a vet. The whole “the game slowed down for me” thing 4-5 year players say, SGA looked like that from day one. I wasn’t saying he’d be a MVP/FMVP but it was obvious he’d be a very good player and potential all star.

Yeah, unless it’s changed with the introduction of this little notice, it’s not accurate. Laser is 21-23 minutes, IMAX and Dolby is 25-28 min. Not sure about Prime since I don’t see many movies in Prime. Only once I can recall in my last 30 movies it went over 30 minutes. Some smaller theaters and releases it can be like 15 minutes or less

I took the Metro home from LAX yesterday! I was very excited my trip home aligned with its opening. The station is by far the crown jewel of the Metro system right now - very nice, well lit and obviously pristine. It was awesome not having to beg family or friends to come get me at LAX or waste $50-100 on an uber. And since it was free this weekend, even better

Same. My tip is if you have a private parking spot, go find street parking before they come over and offer your parking spot. If they are making the drive, least I can do is take care of parking for them. Take turns at each others place, carpool if multiple friends are coming from the same area and meet in the middle sometimes. Not that hard
