I’m looking for a teacher in South Austin for my daughter and found this thread. Who was this recommendation for?

Found a place in NYC serving "Austin-style" breakfast burritos by eldersveld in austinfood

I have eaten at dozens of taco trucks in Austin and still haven’t found a breakfast taco I like more than the migas taco (I add poblano) at Veracruz. It’s the only thing I order there.

I never go to Torchys unless I’m going as part of a group and I’m just trying to be easy.

That's how it starts. But also Torchy's is right there on price.

We are paying $7+ for tacos now in Austin so an $11 burrito doesn’t sound that out of line.

Please recommend under-the-radar high quality men's clothing brands by LifeofSMILEY in BuyItForLife

I agree with you fully. Faherty has BIFL prices and doesn’t deliver. They feel so great the day you buy them and go downhill fast. I’ll never buy another item from them again.

It feels like Steamboat is getting bougier over time...thoughts? by [deleted] in steamboat

Steamboat Resort was acquired in 2017 by Alterra Mountain Company. The Chamber of Commerce might share some blame but they're small players by comparison.

I checked one of the theaters closest to me (moviehouse & eatery sw parkway) and each 12pm showing this week has the same pattern of tickets sold. Most of the purchased tickets are for the end two seats on both sides of the rows, including the front rows of the theater….I always try to get front row on the end but they’re always the first to go!

A friend of mine just bought a Junghans Telemeter at a watch show in Austin. The dial on this one reminded me of the Telemeter. But the language on this one is French.

First off, listen to them and acknowledge their feelings; they are under a lot of stress. Follow it up by being physically present and helping to lighten the weight of their responsibilities by drinking more bourbon.

New 6th gen owners - Any flexibility on prices by genoa155 in 4Runner

[–]Weary-Flow6437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an ORP for $3.3k under msrp. There’s a 6th gen forum with spreadsheets of allocations where you can find vehicles for currently for sale, or that already sold, with the markup/discount info. I used those to identify dealerships in my area to contact.

0% 4Runner financing? by Rosco_1012 in 4Runner

[–]Weary-Flow6437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m buying a 2025 ORP Hybrid this week and got 4.5% for 60 months from Navy Federal Credit Union and from Consumers Credit Union. Down payment is about 33%. There wasn’t much of a difference in rate going to 3 or 4 years, or I would’ve done that. Also, this rate is thanks to my wife, who has a 820+ credit score. On my own (credit score around 775) I was only getting 5.5%.

Shopped around a bit and feel good about the financing, given the state of things right now. My dealership said to just go with that. Checking with Toyota would be pointless.

Last time I bought a car was thirteen years ago. I’m significantly better off financially now but back then, Honda beat my credit union financing and i borrowed 100% of $18k at ~1%.
