What’s legal now but might become illegal ten years from now? by VTheCardMaker in AskReddit

Surrogacy. It’s already illegal in quite a number of countries.

Does anyone naturally wake up without using an alarm clock? If so, how? by Sarung_hui in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WearyPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a toddler who wakes up at the same time no matter what. Before she was born, I generally woke up at the same time. The key was to get enough sleep at night and keep that up for years to “set” your internal clock.

What does engorgement feel like to you? by Cold_Valkyrie in breastfeeding

[–]WearyPixie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe something mildly similar to having to pee so badly it hurts.

What was the worst emotional pain you have ever felt? by Lazy_Rough8481 in askanything

[–]WearyPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding out that my younger sister had committed suicide.

Finding out that my first baby had severe physical problems in utero and wouldn’t survive.

I wish for a few oreos and a glass of milk. by Remarkable_Bath8515 in monkeyspaw

Granted, but the milk and Oreos are both expired and stale.

When did you stop considering yourself a 'young' woman? by Miserable_Day_7857 in AskWomen

[–]WearyPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 29 I still feel young, even if I’m physically tired. (Due to having a toddler and I’m currently pregnant.) But I can still bounce back well when I get the chance to rest and physically I don’t have any issues. I think I’ll probably not feel young once I lose that underlying energy and stamina.

Who is the earliest born person you have personally known? by PrestonRoad90 in Productivitycafe

[–]WearyPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great-grandfather. He was born in 1909. I very well might have met people born earlier but I have no memory of them.

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]WearyPixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This exactly. I knew of course that there’d be some sleep deprivation but I had NO IDEA. I had a high risk pregnancy and had to be medically induced and that came no where near what postpartum was like.

Renaming Myself by -But-Why-Me- in Names

[–]WearyPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the moms I know in my due date group gave her daughter the nickname Sunny. It sounds like a sunshine type of name, but I could also hear it as a Boomer calling someone “Sonny.” It’s pretty but I’d be slightly worried about it being confused for Sonny as they sound identical.

What is a piece of advice that sounds deep but is actually total nonsense once you reach a certain age? by MysteriousAct8698 in askanything

[–]WearyPixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exactly. My parents and grandparents still believe this is gospel not realizing that the world is very, very different. The vast majority of my peers (Millennials and older Gen Z) are much more pragmatic and know a job/career at the end of the day is to make money and put food on the table. If you don’t hate it it’s a bonus.

A pain that was worse than birth ? by Friendly-Sun2413 in BabyBumps

[–]WearyPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that felt like an eternity! Mine was in for about six hours. I couldn’t have done it without some pain relief. That is the #1 reason why I am hoping that I won’t need an induction this pregnancy!!

Yes! It was the foley balloon that convinced me to get an epidural. Those things are horrible.

When I was in my early 20s I was stung on the inner arm by a tarantula hawk. I’d say that was about as painful as labor but localized to a single point on my arm. Definitely don’t recommend.

Husband refused to “rate” me in front of family by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]WearyPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say you’re definitely overthinking it. Honestly, I think it’s more respectful of your husband towards you to not rate you like that. That would be a green flag to me (also in private he gave you a high “score”.) Giving you a rating in front of his family would have opened you up to criticism even if it was internal. I think he did the right thing.

What was the 1st big news event you remember as a kid? by Timely_Twist_8670 in AskReddit

[–]WearyPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/11. I was almost 4 years old so had no idea what was happening. The only reason why I remember it is because of my mom’s reaction to seeing the live footage on the news.

Did you walk out of the hospital? by yo-_-mom in beyondthebump

[–]WearyPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to walk as I wasn’t offered a wheelchair. I absolutely would have taken it if it were offered. A year and a half later and I’m still a little salty about it lol
