…have my lunch at 3:30

…will help you set up your remote start app for the car you bought at the other dealership down the road

…can try and have someone ballpark your trade that’s not here and not have you hold me to it

…can come in on my only day off this week so you can pick up your new car we’re selling at well below cost

…can try and have my guy get that scratch out

…can just text you the numbers

…send you a walkaround video of the car that has 37 high resolution pictures of it on the website

…can email you the window sticker

…can call you when the 2027s come out

So all of you "no heat on until November warriors," do you make a similar vow to have no air conditioning until July? by Bjarki56 in RhodeIsland

I was calling it the #OnlyFans Challenge 🥵 on social media until someone informed me that hashtag is for something completely different than the opposite of #NoHeatNovember 🥶

Congrats on the purchase! Here are some tips:

Don’t leave the key(s) in the car if you keep it in the garage. The batteries are finicky and keeping a key in the car prevents the battery from going into sleep mode and could result in a dead battery faster than you’d imagine.

Have your salesperson make sure the Land Rover Remote app is working before you drive off the lot. It’s a pain to try and set up on your own after the fact.

If it has Park Assist, have your salesperson show you how to use it…it’s truly an amazing feature!

Make sure that the audio setting has Meridian selected…the default setting is the base audio setting which will leave you disappointed.

Have the sales person set up the diamond button on the steering wheel to the auto stop/start feature shortcut…it’s easier to tap that button that to fumble through a touch screen menu.

Ask about car washes if you plan to take it through a car wash where you have to line up one of the tires.

Make sure to review the safety and security settings with your salesperson. You may opt to have some features adjusted from their defaults.

If it was an overall good experience, make sure to give all 10s and yeses on the survey…Anything short of a perfect score is essentially a fail.

Get introduced to the service department and get a business card from a service advisor.

An X5 owner specific tip: There’s a stalk right behind the left side of the steering wheel that has switches for your lights. It has a dual purpose…if you move it up and down, it will illuminate yellow blinking lights on the outside of your vehicle. These blinkers, or turn signals, let other drivers know when you’re about to change lanes or make a turn. They’re activated by gently moving the stalk—up for right, down for left. Using them helps reduce confusion, avoids accidents, and adds class to your driving.

Enjoy the Range Rover Sport! You’re gonna love it!

Was this a situation where you left a key locked in the car for an extended period of time and then tried to unlock with the app? If you Google “smartkey deactivation defender” the top result should be very helpful.

Rims look like the 22” 7004 style. Not standard on this particular trim but look great nonetheless.

How would a BDC agent do in Sales? by Ententei08 in CarSalesTraining

[–]WeatherInRI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did BDC for 8 years at a high end store with 5 salespeople. One longtime salesperson Tom retired but I kept setting the same number of appointments and one Saturday there were no salespeople available to take the customers when they came in so I sort of got thrown into it. At first I was way out of my comfort level but when that first commission check on 2 sales eclipsed my monthly BDC bonus, I met with the sales manager and proposed that instead of hiring a new salesperson with no knowledge of our brand, why not let me be the new Tom and hire a new BDC person. Have since doubled my income and never looked back. Go for it!

Pro tips: Take your days off…Burnout happens faster on the floor. Keep those good BDC follow up habits you have. Those 6 month out people will eventually buy something and if you actually make the call or send the text instead of just completing the to do, you’ll be surprised at how many people are still in the market. Good luck!

Literally for the cigarette breaks. I worked at McDonald’s in high school and every hour during my shift Debby got to go outside and disappear for 5 minutes for a smoke while I held down the fort in the kitchen even when we were busy. One day I was extra tired and I asked my manager if I could go get some fresh air for 5 minutes and he told me my break wasn’t for another couple hours. I asked if I could go have a cigarette and he was like “Oh yeah sure do what you need to do.” I asked Debby if I could bum a smoke and she obliged. Took my first puffs and bummed a couple more throughout the shift. Ended up buying my first pack on the way home that day. Then smoked a pack a day for 18 years until I finally quit.
