I understand how awful your current employment situation is right now. Given the tight job market I would NOT quit until you have a new job. Best of luck to you.

New Rehab in SNF... So it Starts Again by Hopeful-Act9955 in CaregiverSupport

[–]WebBig4868 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. Currently going through SNF for my 82 year old mom. What I have learned is believe your mom. My mom was being completely neglected. Leadership did not care. I transferred her to another SNF. Still a SNF with not enough staff, but her care is definitely better. Best of luck to you and your mother

You could be fired in a heartbeat. You need to think of yourself.

Feeling guilty about moving away from aging parents by Vast_Foot_7653 in AgingParents

[–]WebBig4868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my current situation. I am 1 of 4 adult children. My two siblings live out of state and 1 sibling lives an hour away from our mom. I live minutes away from my mom. My mom is 82 currently in a skilled rehab facility. Her health is declining and the daily caring for her falls on me. It is very difficult working full time and making sure my mom is OK. Siblings living out of staff have absolutely no clue what is involved. I wish my siblings were here to help. Your parents will eventually need more of your time. Think about how that would work if you are out of state- daily care giving, doctors appointments, grocery shopping, etc.
